...We bought the DC03 because we both have arthritis and found it light and easy to use. It was also marketed as the best vacuum cleaner on the market at that time (3 years ago) for dealing with pet hair. Dyson say you should change the filter once a year - we are lucky if we get two months out of one with having a dog (Rough Collie, who is regularly groomed!). Every two days we have to cut the hair from the rollers - it doesn't go through into the collection box. The handle is weak. It broke once, although Dyson did replace it free of charge. It is now cracking again. It is fairly good at cleaning the carpets, but less impressive when using the attachments. The motor simply isn't strong enough for the attachments to work. Advantages: Great suction, good filters, fantastic looks.

...What initially attracted me to the Dyson DC03 Clear was its breath taking looks! I know that you would not normally use the word breath taking on a vac, but it really is the best looking va on the market. It is designed in bright colours that are all transparent, you get to see all the workings with the exception of inside the filter. The filters are great. They are of a standard that could be used in a hospital, they remove not only all dust particles from the air, making them suitable for asthma sufferers, but the also kill all the nasty little germs that float around our homes. The DC03 is also lighter than many of the other Dyson vacs, making it ideal for use by almost anyone.
