Anionic surfactants are basically negatively charged ions that make a detergent work.....actually the explanations I found were much more lengthy than that, but the point is they are relatively harmless.
Polycarboxylates disperse dirt and are chemicals, which is not good, but they are deemed to be safe to use.
We have our carpets cleaned about once a year by a company that comes in and does them all in a day. Inevitably over the next 12 months we will get the odd small stain caused by; dirty shoes (forever reminding my son to take them off at the front door), food spillages (eating front of the telly) and drink spillages.

~~~~~How to use~~~~~ Just a small squirt on the stained area, this is important; as a mousse the product swells dramatically on release from the tin, so really, you only need a small amount, which you should spray from about 12 inches.
Once it is on the affected area and being absorbed use the attached brush to gently (again important) rub the mousse in and work gently away at the stain. If you brush too hard you will be left with a patch of carpet that is artificially lighter than the sorrounding area.
Wait. When it is dry, simply vacuum over it. Sometimes you need more than one go at a stain, especially if you do not get to it fairly soon after it occurs.
~~~~~Does it work~~~~~ In the main yes. What I have found is, the quicker you get to a stain the better this stuff works. I have also found that good old damp cloths applied before using this help a lot, for instance, a wine stain will only get bigger if you use this without trying to 'mop up' a bit first.
I have also found, as alluded to earlier, less is more. Try a little of this first, you can always use more, use too much and you could end up with an artificially bright patch on the carpet as well as a great pile of foaming mousse that you don't know what to do with.
~~~~~Value for money~~~~~ At around a fiver it is not the cheapest product on the market, but as we use less than a tin per year, to me, that makes it very cost effective. Some of the cheaper carpet cleaners out there are frankly inferior and risk damaging your carpets.
~~~~~Final Thoughts~~~~~ As I have said, I am no fan of chemical cleaners, yet the amount of this used makes it okay in my eyes. It works, it is cost effective and it has never irritated my skin, eyes nose or throat, and that makes it a good product.

...I bought a can of 1001 Carpet Cleaning Mousse . I have used this product before but have not seen it in my local shops lately . I thought I better buy two whilst they were readily available and share details of this product with you guys .

1001 is a name I have known for many years . As a child my Mum would use 1001 products for carpet ... ...The 1001 Carpet Mousse is a slightly different take on carpet cleaners . A 300 ml can retails at about £2.95 so it is not extremely cheap , however it is good value .
The actual bright yellow can is about eight inches high and there is a dark blue top as well which is four inches high . Pull this top off and there is an flat egg shaped brush on one side .The other side has a large button to press to activate .

...I then came across the 1001 Mousse which was reasonably priced and which was to attack wet spills and stains. I quickly bought this then rushed home to see how I would target this stain and hoped for some success. 1001 have apparently been going for over 50 years and after logging onto their website I have realised they have a much bigger range of carpet cleaning products than I was initially aware of. They launched in 1940 with their all purpose ... ...known this when I mentioned 1001. I purchased my 1001 at my local Asda and as stated for the 300ml can it cost me £2. I am sure other supermarkets will sell this as well though, it had lasted me a good while and I have used it quite a lot. The 1001 Troubleshooter stain remover spray makes life much easier.
Do not get me wrong, I like the 1001 products full stop but having a ready made stain removal solution in a very easy to handle spray bottle does simplify matters.
If you are going in search of a bottle of 1001 Troubleshooter stain remover then just keep an eye out for the very familiar colours that the WD-40 Company use to market this carpet and upholsterycleaner.
1001 liquid comes in a vibrant yellow bottle with a royal blue cap and those colours do make the product stand apart from other cleaners.
I paid £1.80 for my 1001 Troubleshooter , the bottle has a spray top that has a nozzle which can be turned to twist it on or off.
If you want to tackle smaller stubborn stains then this spray bottle of 1001 solution is ideal.

I was sucked in to buy this product because of the claim it makes on the can 'Vanish the Ultimate Stain Remover' Huh!
Any one knows that if you are accident prone, have children or pets that you should have a supply of some sort of carpet stain remover. I usually stick with good old fashioned 1001 trigger bottle and really wish I did.
Vanish carpet and upholsterycleaner was on offer a couple of weeks ago with around a pound off, which made it cheaper than the 1001. So I thought why not give it a go. The can is a 400ml size and is in its traditional bright pink and blue Vanish design, and around £2.49 which was not to bad considering I get through quite a lot of this stuff.
When my darling angel thought it would be fun to see how far a Robinson's Blackcurrant and Apple Fruit ...
