I first discovered 1001 No Vac in Tesco for £2.00 a couple of months ago (although at the time of writing this it is on offer for £1.50). It is also available at Wilkinsons and Sainsburys for around the same price. I still have half a can left even though I use it on a regular basis.
What is it?
No Vac is a foam spray which can be used on carpets, rugs and upholstery. It is used to eliminate odours without the need to vacuum. It can rid of smells from pets, tobacco and cooking to name a few. It is also perfect for people on the go and who can't vaccum as much as they would like to.
How does it work?
The foam penetrates deep down in the carpet, rug and upholstery fibres which neutrolises and gets rid of nasty and lingering trapped odours.
How is it used?
It's really quick and easy to use. Just shake the can and spray on the desired area from about 15 inches away. If you want to cover a large area spray in a sweeping, side to side motion to evenly apply. It looks a bit scary at first with white foam all over the place but after about 1 minute all of the foam dissapears into the carpet. It fully dries after about 5 minutes, without leaving any marks whatsoever. It is even safe to use on wool.
What do I personally use No Vac for?
I have a dog and am in the process of potty training my little girl so at times I feel like my house smells like an actual zoo so I like to have an almost daily squirt of No Vac around the house. It freshens up the whole house and when people visit it makes it smell like I have been doing lots of housework when I've infact done nothing! I sometimes use it on the sofa after the dog has been laying on it - make sure you don't sit on the sofa about 10 minutes afterwards though otherwise you'll get a damp bum. During most days I am very busy and sometimes don't get a chance to vacuum (and the nights are too late to start getting the hoover out) so No Vac is really handy for me inbetween vacuuming.
And what does it look like?
No Vac comes in the form of a 300ml aerosol spray can. The lid is blue and the foam comes out of the top when pressed. There are flowers on the front of my can as the fragrance is called 'summer flowers'. Other fragrances available are spring rain and gentle breeze.
On the back of the can it states what the product is, directions for use, dangers of the product (do not consume, flammable, keep out of reach of children) and contact details.
And the smell?
Summer flowers smells really sweet, floral and fresh. I can't think of anything to compare it to but it's very pleasent.

No Vac works much better than most air freshners as it lasts a lot longer, usually all day, whereas air freshners last about half an hour.
I have tried Shake n Vac numerous times before and No vac is not only much, much nicer smelling but there is no need for vacuuming like you need with Shake n Vac.

The mention of 1001 reminds me of the advert ' 1001 cleans a big big carpet for less than half a crown ' . Nicely reviewed and thanks for reminding me how old I am ! LOL. xx
