Advantages: Fab music from 80's and 90's - fun and friendly DJ's Disadvantages: Based in The North West ..so many things not relevant if not your area

I mainly listen to the radio from lunchtime, through the afternoon and again on Sundays, so I am a bit biased towards Jude and Tony Wrighton as that is their time slots ..... but I have listened at other times too so I know what I am talking about!!
Lunchtime with Jude is just fab, she makes you feel like she's your mate! ... ...80's mainly, with some newer stuff thrown in. Jude's "thing" is the eight 80's at 2, where she plays 8 tunes from the 80's and you have to guess what links them. ( I am hopeless, never ever get the links!)
After Jude it is time for Tony Wrighton and his drivetime show, this runs from 3pm - 6pm so you get all the traffic updates too, Tony's "thing" is can you guess what it is yet? he plays a snippet from a theme ... more

Lunchtime with Jude is just fab, she makes you feel like she's your mate! She plays the best tunes, proper singalong tunes from the 80's mainly, with some newer stuff thrown in. Jude's "thing" is the eight 80's at 2, where she plays 8 tunes from the 80's and you have to guess what links them. ( I am hopeless, never ever get the links!)
After Jude it is time for Tony Wrighton and his drivetime show, this runs from 3pm - 6pm so you get all the traffic updates too, Tony's "thing" is can you guess what it is yet? he plays a snippet from a theme tune or item off a shopping channnel and you have to guess what it is ( Yep - I am rubbish at those too!)
Other presenters are Melanie Sykes and Nick Snaith, they are on a sunday evening and they play century's most requested chart, but I love the banter between them.
Soccer fans are catered for too, with every weeknight at 6pm you have the legend phone in, with Mickey Thomas, Alan Kennedy, Graeme Sharp and Gary Owen, taking you through all the football news and fixtures.
If you are an early bird the breakfast show is a must, Parksy and the crew will keep you entertained.
There are just so many more ... Degsy & Diane, Andy Crane's lovelines (remember him...yesss from the broom cupboard on Childrens BBC!) Darren Proctor .....
You can also Visit Century FM on the web, just head off to http://www.1054centuryfm.com. Fab website where you can listen to the station, enter competitions and read up about you favourite presenters ... they never look like you imagine they would....be prepared for Tony Wrighton ... he is hot!! LOL
Although Century FM is a station local to the North West area, I Love it, even though I am in South Cumbria, so whilst the traffic updates and local happenings are not relevant to me, the fab tunes and friendly banter more than make up for that.
I have my DAB radio in the kitchen, Car radio and Hubby's Car radio all tuned in to Century FM.
I urge you - Give it a go!!! You will love it! If you loved the 80's and 90's this is definitely the station for you, although they do play new release stuff too.
** UPDATE **
They have been having a massive change around at century FM and as of the end of this month (january 2007) some of the presenters will be playing different time slots. Jude is no longer with us at lunchtime, but has moved to a late evening 8pm slot. Tony Wrighton has been replaced completely by a guy called Clive Warren, although the drivetime show has kept it's mid afternoon slot. Melanie sykes is no longer with Nick Snaith in the sunday chart rundown, joining Nick these days is none other than Gail Porter, and I believe there has been some changes to the breakfast team. Now for me this is all a really big change, as I loved listening to Jude at lunchtime and Tony Wrighton in the afternoons, so I will keep listening for a while and report back on how it's going!
** UPDATE** 01/03/2007
Well I feel I have been listening to the new schedule long enough now to comment on it ..... I think that for personally, changing it around so much was a bit of a mistake, I still listen at lunchtime, but instead of Jude it is now Jo Lloyd, who is absolutely fine, but she is nowhere near as good as Jude! They have kept the same format, and the same teasers and the main game eight 80's @ 2, but the banter and the humour is not the same. I hardly listen to the drivetime show at all now, Clive Warren is just nowhere near as interesting as Tony Wrighton was. Jude was the main DJ I liked on Century FM, and her show is now on later at night around 10pm, so I never get the chance to listen to that. For me personally I don't think the change has worked, as I listen to century fm nowhere near as much as I did, but they do take the opinions of their listeners very seriously, so you never know if there are a few people feeling the same way, it might change again.... The best thing about Century is the music and that has not changed, they play good songs from mainly the 80's and the current charts, but at the weekends you get a bit of 80's 90's and now, so whilst I still have century as my main station, I just don't listen for as long!
Advantages: great music from the 80s,90 and now Disadvantages: none
105.4 Century FM is a North West based radio station that is now availalbe on the internet.
OK i am an adult (omg i hit that age) that grew up in the 80s and 90s. I am now past listening to radio 1 that i used to listen to all the time.
I then found 105.4 century fm and felt rejuvinated again with their mix of music from the 80's, 90's and now.
Then I found out that it had gone on the web. This means that I can now listen to radio that i enjoy ... ...called 21st century kids.
105.4 century fm also gets notified of tour dates of bands before any one else. Therefore giving you a chance to ring the ticket office before anyone else (apart from other listeners of course). I love this radio station because all the presenters feel like friends. They are always invite their listeners to phone in or text in and the competitions are well worth trying for.
My connection to the internet is 1.5mb line so ...
