*Orlando Bloom*

*Orlando Bloom* In case none of you have noticed, I am madly and totally in love with ‘Orli’. A few facts for you. He was born in Canterbury, Kent, UK, on January 13th, 1977. His mum is called Sonia, and his dad was the great novelist Harry Bloom, who also happened to be imprisoned alongside Nelson Mandela. Turns out, that after Harry died when he was 4, he wasn’t his dad at all, but it was Colin Stone, a family friend. He accepted it pretty well, and at about 16, quite school and turned to acting, to become what he is today. Orlando is quite accident prone, he’s broken his back (after falling three stories off a drainpipe), ribs, nose, both his legs, an arm, a wrist, a finger and a toe and cracked his skull on three occasions. A rib was broken once while filming Lord of the Rings, when he fell off his horse. He learned to surf, and became so skilled with a bow in his training for The Lord of the Rings, that in the end his coach would throw plates in the air and he would hit them with one shot. He is also a vegetarian, but for some reason, had to revert to eating meat while in New Zealand for LOTR’s. He has a long list of films under his belt, including Elizabethtown, Kingdom of Heaven, Haven (which he co produced), Troy, The Calcium Kid, LOTR’s, Black Hawk Down, Pirates of the Caribbean, Ned Kelly, and Wilde. Orlando is defiantly a box of mysterious tricks. He has played the swashbuckling pirate, the swordsman, but then he turns around and plays a bit part of a fisherman (Haven) and the drama of Kingdom of Heaven. A lot of people have criticised him as being just another ‘pretty boy’, and sure, he is absolutely gorgeous, in my opinion, but he also seems like just another guy, ready to do what he loves, and that is, acting.
*Johnny Depp* What woman couldn’t agree with me here. Johnny has that dark, brooding look down to a tee. He was born on June 9th, 1963, an American. Who could forget his Nightmare on Elm Street days when if I remember correctly, he got sucked into a bed and then pretty much spat out, with gallons of blood?! I was scarred for life. He also stared in Sleepy Hollow, Secret Window, Finding Neverland, Cocolat, From Hell, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and Pirates of the Caribbean. He is currently filming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with little Freddie Highmore, his fellow cast member from Finding Neverland. A weird fact? Who knew that he featured on a rock album from British band, 'Oasis'. He plays lead slide guitar on the track, "Fade In-Out". Noel Gallagher, Oasis's lead guitarist, was allegedly too drunk to perform it himself, so celebrity pal Depp stepped in and nailed the lead on one take. So as well as being a gorgeous actor, he plays in a band, and can do just as well as Mr Gallagher himself? Good eh?
*Christian Slater* Born on 18th of August 1969. I personally have been waiting for Mr Slater to come to Ireland for me for oh, about 10 years, but he hasn’t arrived yet. Bad traffic and all. He’s played in many roles, the most recent as Winston Churchill in The Churchill Years, with Neve Campbell. He’s also appeared in Mindhunters, Windtalkers, Very Bad Things, Hard Rain, Broken Arrow, Murder in the First, Interview with A Vampire, True Romance, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and many, many more. My first introduction to Slater was through the warped and dark film I seen back was I was way too young to see it, called Heathers. It was a weird one, also with Winona Ryder. Some facts? Who knew that Slater is a massive Star Trek fan, and his eyebrows are actually a weird shape after he shaved them dressing up as Spock for Halloween, and they never grew back in right? He also won the roles of the Interviewer in Interview with the Vampire and Eric Draven in The Crow after the death of friend and fellow actor River Phoenix (who had been cast in the first role and turned down the second). Slater also turned down the lead in The Crow, leading producers to actor Brandon Lee--who would become permanently linked with the film and its story when he was accidentally killed on the set of the film. In the end, he actually donated all of his paycheque from "Interview with A Vampire" to River Phoenix's favourite charities after his untimely death. I picked Christian probably because I have liked him for so, so long. More so than any of the others really. Heathers really did it for me, maybe it’s one for me to review next!
*Kurt Cobain* How could I possibly write this and not include the man whose poster has hung on my wall since 1990 or so, an excellent present from relations in the US, and who actually introduced my older brother and I, to Nirvana. When they started to get well known in Europe, posters gradually started to get imported or printed or whatever, and turn up in our shops, so many times has my poster changed, but they’ve all had the same theme, Nirvana title somewhere, but then Kurt staring, smiling, jumping around the place. My current one has been there since Nirvana did MTV Unplugged, in New York, and features the lyrics from the song Dumb, and a picture of Kurt from that set. I couldn’t part with it, later of course, Kurt was to die. So, some facts. Kurt Donald Cobain was born on February 20th, 1967, Hoquaim, a small town southwest of Seattle. Kurt later moved to Aberdeen, where he had a happy childhood until his parents divorced. The divorce left Kurt's outlook on the world forever scarred. He became withdrawn and anti-social. He was constantly placed with one relative to the next and at times even homeless, forcing him to sleep under a bridge. In 1985, Kurt left Aberdeen for Olympia, and the next year, Nirvana was formed. In 1989 Nirvana recorded their debut album Bleach under the independent label Sub-Pop records. Nirvana became very popular in Britain and by 1991 they signed a contract with Geffen. Their next album Nevermind became a 90s masterpiece and made Kurt's Nirvana one of the most successful bands in the world. In February 1992 Kurt married Courtney Love, the woman who was already pregnant with his child, Frances Bean Cobain. Nirvana released their next album Insecticide later that year. In September 1993 Nirvana released their next album, 'In Utero', which topped the charts. On March 4, 1994, Kurt was taken to hospital in a coma. It was officially stated as an accident but many believe it to have been an unsuccessful suicide attempt. Family and friends convinced Kurt to seek rehab. Kurt was said to have fled rehab after only a few days from a missing person's report filed by Courtney Love. On April 8th Kurt's body was found in his Seattle home. In his arms was a shotgun, a supposed suicide note near his body. Many fans, myself included, never accepted this supposed suicide, but there ya go. Maybe another category to write about. *Go see MUFCboi’s review on this matter!!*
*River Phoenix* I know a few of these that I have picked have actually died, and perhaps their popularity has soared since their deaths, but you can’t help but think that they are still gorgeous. They will always be the way they were before they died in my head, even though, had they been alive, all would have changed. But however, they still have to be my choices. River was born on 23 August 1970 in Madras, Oregon, USA. He starred in many films, including Thing Called Love, Sneakers, My Own Private Idaho, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Running on Empty, and what really did it for me, Stand By Me. I remember watching this at a relations house, far too young but enjoying it so much. I was completely mesmerised, and have watched it a hundred times since. His father John had been a carpenter, his mother Arlyn a secretary in the Bronx. They met in California in 1968 and by the time River was two. They were members of the Children of God, living in South America, where John was the sect's "Archbishop of Venezuela". In 1977 they moved to Los Angeles and changed their name to Phoenix. His parents encouraged all their children to get into movies, and by age ten, River was acting professionally on TV. A dedicated animal rights activist and environmentalist, River was a strict vegetarian and a member of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). River was a talented musician as well as an actor and he played guitar, sang, and wrote songs for his band, Aleka's Attic, which also included his sister Rain. Although they never released their own album, their song "Across The Way" can be found on PETA's Tame Yourself album, used to fight animal abuse. Some facts? River was in the middle of filming "Dark Blood" when he died. The film couldn't be finished due to too many unfilmed crucial scenes. His mother was later sued. Can you believe those guys? The song "Transcending" on The Red Hot Chilli Peppers album "One Hot Minute" is dedicated to him. He was supposed to be the interviewer in Interview with A Vampire, but died. Christian Slater took his place, and donated his entire paycheque from the movie to all of River's favourite charities, as I’ve mentioned before. If you love his name, here are his siblings: Joaquin Phoenix, Summer Phoenix, Rain Phoenix and Liberty Phoenix. How great are they. He died aged 23 outside Johnny Depp's Los Angeles club, the Viper Room.
*Jason Statham* He was born in 1972, in London, England and seems to have done a lot in a short time! He has been an Olympic Diver on the England National Diving Team and finished 12th in the World Championships in 1992. He has also been a fashion model, black market salesman and finally of course, actor. His films include Cellular, Collateral (Who seem him as the airport man!!), Call of Duty, The Italian Job, The Transporter, Snatch and Lock, Stock. I think the reason I included him here, is he’s sorta the gruff, rough sorta man that all women like to look at. He’s always played menacing roles, who seen him in Cellular, so scary! My friend and I nearly jumped out of our seats when he popped into Collateral, a total surprise. But anyways, I had to include him just cos that mean woman Kelly Brooke left him for Billy Zane! Madness I tell you! Madness!!
*Dominic Monaghan* Ok, so being a hobbit in Lord of the Rings did nothing for him. He had to gain weight, wear big feet, grow his hair scraggly, and generally be a little dirty fella. Look beyond that, see his interviews and other films, and you’ll see the Dom that I like! Ok, so he was born on the 8th of December 1976, in Berlin, Germany. Born and raised there, Dom and his family moved to England when he was twelve. In addition to speaking fluent German, he has a knack at impersonations and accents. He frequently returns to his hometown of Manchester, England to see his family and to be closer to the Manchester United Football Club. Since watching Star Wars when he was six years old, Dominic has been consumed by films. His other obsessions include writing, music, fashion, playing and watching soccer and also surfing. Utilising his writing skills, he and LOTR co-star Billy Boyd are collaborating on a script. So his films. Lord of the Rings, The Purifiers, and Shooting Livien. He has also appeared in a few tv series. Some facts? He has a habit of writing on his hands, which he shares with Chris Martin of Coldplay, who happens to be one of his favourite bands. While filming the Lord of the Rings-trilogy, he got rid of his fear of heights by joining Orlando Bloom when he went bungee jumping and he owns a leaf-mantis named Gizmo, a Black Widow spider named Witchitar and an albino snake named Blink. Who doesn’t ?!
*Billie Joe Armstrong* He was born on 17th February, 1972 in Rodeo, California, USA. For those of you who don’t know him, he plays the guitar and is the main source of vocals for punk band Green Day, as well as Pinhead Gunpowder. I first got into Greenday, as with Nirvana and a few other American bands, from tapes sent from family members in America, and thanks to MTV, those songs came alive, the people came alive, and I finally knew what they looked like. I can’t even remember what the first Greenday video I seen, but I knew straightaway that Billie Joe was for me! He is married, with two children: Joey Armstrong, born 1995, and Jakob Danger, born September 12, 1998, and is lucky enough to own a recording studio, that is built in his basement. Again, MTV allows this information. I love CRIBS!!
*Josh Hartnett* Josh was born on the 21st of July, 1978, in San Francisco, California, USA. I have been a fan of his since The Faculty, a film he starred in 1998, as well as being in many other films, like Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down, 40 Days and 40 Nights, and Hollywood Homicide. About the time he finished Hollywood Homicide, Josh decided to quit the film industry, move back to his native Minneapolis, and set up home with his childhood sweetheart Ellen Fenster. They had been together for a number of years and about a year ago, they bought a $2.5 million mansion together. He became a plumber, and did odd jobs around the town, but then, in February 2004 the two decided to go their separate ways. This led him to go after the film Wicker Park, in which he got the lead role as Matthew – Please see my review of this film!! He has also started a production company, Roulette Entertainment, with Elden Henson. When he was younger, he quit football in high school because of an injured left knee. Another little fact is that he is of Swedish descent.
I have decided to leave this person til last, with my explanation as to why beneath it.
*Brandon Lee* Brandon Lee was born on the 1st of February, 1965 in Oakland, California, USA. He was the son of famous martial arts / actor Bruce Lee. In 1965 they moved to Hong Kong where Brandon became fluent in Cantonese by the age of 8. He attended Boston's Art-Oriented Emerson College in Massachusetts. He studied Martial Arts and drama, like his father. In 1983 he was expelled from school because of misbehaviour, but received his diploma at Miraleste High school. He was in "Rapid Fire", "Showdown Little Tokyo", and a few more films, including "The Crow". He turned down offers to be in "Dragon: The Bruce Lee story" On 31st of March, 1993, Brandon died on the set of "The Crow". While filming one scene, where he gets shot(by the character named Fun Boy), the cap of a blank, which shoot harmlessly, accidentally got lodged in his spine after penetrating his abdomen. It seems that due to cutbacks on the set, a piece of cartridge that should have been dislodged, wasn’t, and so was blocked in the barrel, causing the next shot to dislodge it. The doctors worked desperately for five hours, but it was no use. He was pronounced dead at 1:04 pm the next day. He was supposed to marry Eliza Hutton on April 17. His body was flown to Seattle to be buried beside his father in Lake View Cemetery. One thing about Brandon Lee, he is the only one that I have included that I started to like and get to know about after his death. I am a massive fan of the Crow, I remember his death being published at the time, and thought nothing of it, until I watched the film and remembered all about it. Maybe I would be described as a hanger on after his death, but I don’t care. I was only 10 when he died. I’ve since watched numerous of his films, and will always be a fan.
I hope you have enjoyed my Top 10, I decided to go against the ‘norm’ and include some facts about each one, so I hope that’s ok with everyone. I could have included so many more, how dare Ciao make you pick just 10! So here’s a little few more that I could have included: Jude Law (Alfie, Sky Captain) Billy Bob Thornton (Bad Santa – I’m sorry, there’s just something about him!!) Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings) Stuart Townsend (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings) Ben Affleck (Daredevil, Pearl Harbor) Will Smith (Bad Boys, I Robot) Nicolas Cage (Con Air…mmmm!) Vin Diesel (Pitch Black, XxX) James McAvoy (Shameless, Inside I’m Dancing) Jacques Villeneuve (Formula 1 Driver) Bam Margera (Jackass, Viva la Bam) Patrick Carpentier (US CART/ IndyCar driver)
…and so many more!! Thanks for reading, Happy New Year everyone!! Marian x
Advantages: about my fave men Disadvantages: don't know
...it's just natural. He's number 10 on my list because he doesn't have the same amount of appeal as my number 1. 9) Goran Visnjic
He's been on ER for like 8 out of the 13 years it's been on, and I don't think the show will be able to run without him. A show like ER needs it's eye-candy, first their was George Clooney (not my type) then Noah Wyle who when he left I cried my eyes out, but then Luka became the main hottie on the show. You've seen his ... ...stared in the 2001 film 10 Things I Hate About You I just fell in love, from then on he's stared in many shows, showing off his acting ability, his ability to do different accents and his hotness. He changes his hair-do more than David Beckham but he always looks gorgeous, I love him more when he's got longer hair to, but that's only my opinion. 1) Johnny Depp (of course)
If this was asked before the first Pirates film came out, he probably wouldn't ...

10. Richard Gere
He’s the proof, gray hair is sexy. Richard is 58 years old and lives in New York and India. He’s Buddhist and a friend of the Dalai Lama. I think we all know him very well out of his films with Julia Roberts. Number one of these films is “Pretty Woman” but there’s also a second film, called “The Runaway Bride”. I think, a film with both together is fantastic. Personally, I prefer him in films like them, on the side ... ...adding her to my top 10 but she looks fantastic. I love her music and own 3 albums of her. She’s 33 years old and was born in Chicago (USA). Her career started in 2000, only 7 years ago. Her success only lasted till 2003 when doctors diagnosed cancer. After only 6 months, she won against the illness and made a great comeback. She wrote also songs during her time in hospital. These songs were some of her bests. In 2005, she published her first “best-off ...

I've already written an op on my 10bestlookingcelebrities. So thought I'd go right down the scale and do one on the least attractive celebs. The 10 I've chosen are all so different in their own ways, but have 1 similarity - they're all not at all attractive!
1) LIAM GALLAGHER
I don't know what people see this this fella. He's crude, rude, vulgar, disgusting, and down right ugly! He's an embarrasment to the Nation. Liam, if you're reading this, crawl back under your stone!
2) NOEL GALLAGHER
I thought as I've got Liam, I might as well chuck his brother in there for good measures. Ok, so Noel is a bit better-looking, and isn't quite as brash as Liam, but he's still nothing special.
3) ROD STEWART
I can't believe this man! Here is this rock superstar with squillions of £££££ in the bank, constantly got a young blonde ...
