...Rena has a very good reputation on aquarium equipment and their 300w heaters are a good buy, good build quality and in most cases very good value for money.
the heat element is sealed and in case of an accident would not be realised in the aquarium, there is also a lights that came up when the heater is in operation and swich off when the correct temperature is reach.
the only problem I found with 300w heaters is that sometimes they "stick" and in other words stay always on. if the heater is not on view you may realise too late that the water is boiling.
for large aquarium I suggest to use 2 150w heaters and the rena range supply this and other wattage...

The kit comes complete with three heads for different heights and the maximum height is advertised at about 10 inches high, personally I would say more around 7 inches.

Now for the necessary technical details. Size is small but great for my garden which is medium in size - 9-1/4" H x 3" W x 4"D
It comes in Black and is made of High Grade Plastic, Ceramic and Metal (boring I know). This is perfect for what I wanted which was to add a little something to the garden but not too over powering.
I got a 2 year manufacturer warranty which for the price I must say I was more than happy with.

The technical details are as follows; the solar panel has a voltage of 4.8V, current of 149mA and power of 0.7W. The pump has a voltage of 4.8V, current of 100mAh and produces a flow rate of 150 litres per hour which is about 33 gallons per hour.
This pump is really intended for ornamental water features such as a bowl on the patio or a bird bath but I have been very pleased with it in my nature pond. It seems to produce just enough circulation to the water for it not to become stagnant and as a bonus looks very pleasing. It would not be powerful enough to aerate a fish pond but larger and more powerful (although also more expensive) versions are available, as are some that store the energy in a battery so they will operate when there is no sun. The nature pond is now teaming with all sorts of bugs and larvae...

This camera is well worth the money if you are looking for an effective but simplistic piece of kit!
The DSC-W150 can easily fit into the your pocket so you dont have to worry about storage issues!
