1GB ECC MEMORY 1 MODULE F/ DELL DIMENSION XPS GEN 5 NS

Advantages: Lasts long, pretty appearance, plenty of memory
Disadvantages: Somewhat large and it's not as simple as a Mac.

...I'm currently using my Dell Dimension XPS Gen 5 to write this review, even though it came out a number of years ago. It has a nice appearance, runs somewhat smoothly, doesn't require too much maintenance, and generally can complete each and every task that I expect of it. When I first purchased it in 2005 there was nothing that it couldn't do. It could run any video of the time at the highest settings. Sadly, it has grown weak and now struggles to run today's games. I recently purchased the newly-released "Sims 3". After installing I had to turn all of the settings down the the lowest that they could go and even still the computer lagged at an unbearable rate. But enough insulting its old age. It was around $2000, if I remember correctly. I believe that it has 2GB of ram and a 320GB hard drive. I'm positive that I got what I paid for. In... Read review

...Dell is one of the most popular companies for computers, and this pc is just an example of what makes them one of the biggest companies. The XPS range is mainly for gamers because of the memory and speed. But it is capable of doing many tasks at once without freezing so there is no reason to not buy this if your not a frequent pc gamer. The design is outstanding and is very futuristic (but that is not what everyone looks for in a computer but it is a plus). The core duo processor is the fastest around and this is mainly what drives this computer to be capable of high speed and exceptional reliability. The system also has a dvd/cd,R-RW double layer drive which is also the latest technology, so you can burn cd's and dvd's endlessly. ...My 1GB Ipod Shuffle was bought from Argos (www.argos.co.uk) for £49.99. It is also available from Ebay (www.ebay.co.uk) for around £30. Positives: The Ipod is very lightweight, meaning you can barely feel it?s there, and the new clip makes it easier to use on the move, easily clipped onto a collar, bag, or wherever you like. It comes in two capacities, 512mb and 1GB, which hold between 120 and 250 songs. The Itunes interface is pretty easy to use, with songs being downloaded or moved from CD to Ipod quickly. Sound quality is good with the original white Ipod earphones, though most of my friends have replaced them with superior Sony ones, as unfortunately the white earphones as well as looking grubby after a while put you at risk in some areas from pickpockets and muggers.
