I love this and read it cover to cover right away when I get it. Some stories are skipped over from time to time but generally there is more good than bad. One really fun part is watching artists and writers mature over time in this, you get really attached to not just the characters but the writers/artists as well! Definitely worth while, but addictive!
I'm in the U.S. and it's really nice to get this British comic. My local comic stores orders it for me, but if you're in the US and you want it, you can subscribe directly! There are stories in here you'll want to read over and over again. Watch classics in the making. Again, some stories and art are not as great as others, but it is a strength of the magazine that they try out new things and experiment a bit.
Stories are mostly technically science fiction, but comedy and other genres are highly influential in the magazine from time to time. The main character is Judge Dredd (much better than in the movie) and there is always a story featuring him and his city (though sometimes he travels to other cities) and there are other characters from his world that have their own stories. Great creators like John Wagner, Carlos Ezquerra, Brian Bolland, Pat Mills, etc have been involved in stories. Judge Dredd continues to be mostly written by John Wagner which is a treat!
