Olivia is a book that was given to one of our daughters by her nursery at the end of last term. It quickly established itself as a favourite over the summer holidays. Olivia is a small pig with large ears. She is lively, energetic, precocious, opinionated and feisty. She specialises in tiring people out ? even herself! In many ways, she reminds me of our two girls?. This book doesn?t really have a storyline as such; it?s more of a ?Day in the life of?? Olivia likes to try on ALL her clothes when deciding what to wear in the morning. She likes to build very impressive sandcastles but she doesn?t like to nap. Mine To Kill - A True Story??

I have had this book in my possession for around 17 years; it is actually my mum's book. She warned me not to read it as she felt it would scare the whatsits out of me, so with her words ringing in my ears this book has been in a draw in my bed side table for at least the past 4 years. So when I found my self in the position last week of having nothing left to read and having to wait over the week end for my new eBay purchases to arrive I picked this book up expecting to be too frightened to read it. What I found was that it is in fact a very good story, not what I would call frightening, but I can see why my mum would have thought I would be scared at the age of 10?it really would have scared the whatsits out of me!! Review of Mine to Kill - David St Clair

Good in bed - Don't get excited, it is not advice on Sex!

Advantages: Easy to read and well written, not run of the mill stuff
Disadvantages: A little predictable at times

I picked up this book, ?Good in Bed?, the debut novel by Jennifer Weiner from a Bookcrossing spot in Derby last week. This book, was first published a few of years ago so it has had time to get as far as the charity shops and also into book crossing. What is nice about a free book is that you can risk trying books that you probably would not normally buy. The title of this book would certainly not grab my attention but I read the blurb on the back and thought I had nothing to lose so I took it. I have got to admit that my expectations of it were not very high but thought I could just pop it back in to the book crossing shelf next time I?m in Derby but I found I was quickly in to the book and was not at all tempted to give it up.
