I'm not a fan of top whatever lists, and I loathe the term "overrated" as I find it to be overused (although it springs to mind when I am on sites like this). For my 250th review (or not-really-a-review) however, I decided to compile a top ten list of products that I've reviewed which I felt I have overrated, and contemplated taking a star off the rating. There have been reviews that I've gone back to and changed the rating - these would be next in line, though my laziness means I might never get round to these.
10. Metallica - Ride The Lightning. Production values aside, the second half of this album is average compared to the first - I wouldn't classify Ride The Lightning as a consistent, and thus not a classic, album. ****
9. Valkyrie Profile for PlayStation. More from the dungeons and towns (and maybe even the endings) would not have gone amiss, and the lack of structure sometimes hurts the game as I was left to repeat the same dungeons so as to prepare my army for the Sacred War. ***
8. Final Fantasy X for the PlayStation 2. When a challenging boss does come along, it doesn't help that the cut-scenes cannot be skipped. And the puzzles can be painful, what with the delays, and Blitzball is just silly (if not too start-stop) as a sport. ***
7. Resident Evil 4 for the PlayStation 2. Longer doesn't mean better - there were times when Resident Evil 4 dragged on. Also, I'm not a fan of games adjusting the difficulty itself accordingly to how you play - I would rather overcome a challenge than have a game go easy on me. Not to say that this game was a walkover though. ***
7. Super Bomberman for the Super Nintendo. The strength of this game lies in the multiplayer - however, Super Bomberman only really comes alive when there are four human players, and also, there were not that many zones which were worth replaying. ***
6. Street Fighter II for the Super Nintendo. I mentioned Street Fighter II Turbo, which this has been bettered by, without doubt - what with playable bosses, extra moves, and faster gameplay. ***
5. UEFA 2000 for the Game Boy Color. Limited football game which lacks depth to play and doesn't take long to master. And the audio is awful and has nothing on the atmosphere of the beautiful game. **
4. F-1 World Grand Prix for the Game Boy Color. I have a tendancy to play games pretty thoroughly but I gave this game the benefit of the doubt - other than overcoming the Challenge mode, the slowdown made the Season mode too tricky to tackle. **
3. Beyblade Vol. 1 (Anime DVD) I'm not a fan of the series, but those that might be would not be missing much by starting at the second volume. **
2. Chocobo Racing for the PlayStation. Racing that's perhaps too start-stop. Multi-player modes on offer are bog-standard, where only two can play that game. **
1. Onimusha 2 for the PlayStation 2. Whilst passing the adult magazine on as a gift was funny, Onimusha 2 wasn't as fun as the first game. I passed the Illusion Forest Path but I never figured how, and despite much cursing of the camera angles, I was able to beat the final boss on first time of asking. **
So these are the ten I felt strongest about their rating being too high, and I am at ease with the re-ratings. It's a pretty poor list which would not have looked out of place if it featured on GameFAQs, if I had published reviews there, but now, onto the next review!

Nice one on reaching 250 reviews, that's quite an achievement. Hopefully I'll stumble over the same milestone next year lol :)
