# A Dell introduction #
The business Dell was founded by Michael Dell in the summer of 1984 and was named 'PC limited'. Dell was one of the first pioneers within this new stream of business; the only competitors they had was IBM, and IBM was saturating the market. In those days the speeds were 2k per processor. Dell wanted to find away to quicken up data processing and developed a workable prototype. In 1985 he managed it with a flabbergasting 8MHz processor speed. Michael was on his way to being a success in the US and has gone from strength to strength. Revenue 2006>> just over 56 Billion.

Having bought a Dimension 800/4100 for home last month I have been very pleased with both the machine and dealing with Dell. I was a little worried when the PC arrived in 3 large boxes, but actually it’s a very reasonable size. The 17” monitor is big in terms of depth, but is worth it for the picture quality especially if playing games or DVDs. The subwoofer for the speakers takes up some space but again is well worth it as the sound quality is as good as most stereo systems for playing audio CDs while you work. The only slight problem with the hardware was the modem cable which isn’t very long so I had to buy an extension cable but that was all.

I have personally purchased one of the flash drives as I am an IT student and i need to transfer a lot of data.
First of all, these memory sticks are very lightweight and really small. It includes a split ring which is on the stick which can be attached to any keyring to prevent losing it.
This specific flash drive has 256MB of memory space on it. This is quite a substantial amount if you are going to hold files, folders and small graphics on it. It is very fast at transferring files, there is hardly any need to wait around. It is nearly an instant transfer.
I wouldn't recommend this flash drive for anyone that was going to use it for very large graphical files and to hold lots of music files. Music files are very large and this flash drive is likely to hold around 2-3 albums worth. That is what i have found from my own ...
