...when the next issue of 25 Beautiful Homes is due. Anxiously I pour over the magazine racks in case all the issues have gone and believe me this does happen as they sell out so quickly. Seemingly therefore I am not the only one dreaming of luxury, but living in squalor - well maybe not quite.
The magazine is glossy, beautifully presented and contains page upon page of glorious rooms. Happily, for me at least, there are not many houses ... ...real homes that look comfortable and lived in but interesting and full of character.
A good tip for other readers is to have a magnifying glass to hand when you're reading the magazine and in that way you can also see the flaws
which many of us have in our own homes - stain marks, holes in rugs etc.
So if looking at the pictures makes you depressed this device is a must.
The beginning of every month is particularly exciting to me. It's the time when the next issue of 25 Beautiful Homes is due.
Happily, for me at least, there are not many houses with the new lilac, orange, or lime-green colour schemes, but real homes that look comfortable and lived in but interesting and full of character.

The magazine does not contain pages and pages of advertisements so you get value for money. Each room or home gives one ideas for improvements in their own home and a good tip is to keep hold of the magazines for ideas for future decorating tips or colour schemes.
I genuinely don't have any criticisms of this magazine. My only suggestion to the editors would be to have a second-hand or for sale and wanted feature, perhaps using photographs of people's objects for sale if possible.
For value for money and enjoyable reading it is a must.
Advantages: great pictures and some great ideas Disadvantages: none in mu opinion
...some ideas.
I spotted 25 BEAUTIFUL HOMES and decide to buy it for a browse through it. And gosh was I impressed by what I found - this magazine is full of home interiors for you to browse through - it has given me some wonderful ideas about what way i would liekto kit out my interior of my home.
The magazine caters for all types of taste - everything from barn homes to modern day homes and old homes that have been converted.
The layout is clear ... ...pictures inside. Unlike many magazines there are very few advertisments - so you are really getting value for money as there is good content.
This magazine really delivers what it says on its cover - and in my opinion well worth the money unlike so many other magazines in our shops today.
there are lots of good ideas - and its so nice to see around other ordinary peoples homes - whic is not so often done by other magazines who show us around the ...

Advantages: 25 very beautiful, very real homes and hardly any adverts. Disadvantages: Some of the houses are on the grand side.
...it says in the title, 25 beautiful homes, one after the other, with no filler articles, and very few adverts. This is great a)if your nosy - these are the homes of real people, with all the quirky decoration you can imagine, and b)if you're hunting for translatable ideas for your own home, they work in somebodies home, so why not yours? ...

Advantages: packed with lovely pictures of great homes Disadvantages: most of the homes are extremely prestigious
...mag is well titled - 25 beautiful homes is exactly what you get inside. The mag doesn't dwell on decorating ideas and hints and tips on getting the perfect kitchen cupboards. Instead it lets the pictures of the houses do the talking and makes your own imagination do the work.
I have got most of my best ideas from this magazine - the great thing about it is that because you haven't followed step by step instructions, you feel as though you dreamt ...

Advantages: Beautifully presented full of interesting homes Disadvantages: Several pages of advertisements
fascinating reading.
There is a garden section at the back of the magazine containing some wonderfully interesting, old and characterful gardens (nothing quirky or Charlie Dimmock type so perhaps give it a miss if that's the sort of thing you are interested in). In that respect therefore, I feel this magazine has the edge over 25BeautifulHomes which is another magazine I look forward to buying, but which doesn't really have a gardening section.
At £2.75 it falls within the average price range. I probably won't buy it personally, but I'll definitely be pinching this from my sister each month!! ...
Advantages: Glossy Disadvantages: Too minimalistic and changing rooms in style now
bored.I need to be surrounded by beautiful, old quirky things(no I'm not talking about the husband). There is nothing in a minimalistic room that would hold my interest to any degree. If however, this is your style then the magazine may indeed be very appropriate for you as it is full of rooms which have been specifically set up with very bright colours and cheap and cheerful accessories.
I used to look forward to buying Ideal Homes every month but now buy 25BeautifulHomes instead and would recommend anyone who likes the older style to do so also, however I have a feeling this magazine comes under the same management, as quite often there are homes depicted in it which I remember seeing in Ideal Home in it's original format. This could possibly be the reason why the management have changed the magazine's style,in order that the two ...

, thankfully, having original windows, including stained glass, floors, fireplaces and the odd picture rail or two. However it has also suffered from 1950's modernisation, and is covered in yards and yards of woodchip, blocked up fireplaces, and an excuse for a kitchen which is neither fitted nor unfitted. We want to ensure it is refurbished to a period style, but yet not overly fussy or dark like so called quaint cottages, and as there is a significant amount of both general building upgrading and a complete redecoration, it was worth buying as many home magazines as possible to glean as many ideas as possible before we dash in and do anything.
Home magazines are never cheap, and this one currently retails for £3.25 (Feb 2006), compared with £2.95 for the BBC's Good Homes; £3.10 for BeautifulHomes and £3.30 for Homes and Antiques, also a BBC ...
