The EtherLink XL PCI Combo Network Interface Card is designed for your 10BASE-T or COAX network by 3Com. This card is ideal for those who want optimum performance for their PCI bus computers with the flexibility of a combo card containing RJ-45, BNC and AUI connectors. The EtherLink XL series of interface cards include Parallel Tasking and PACE Interactive Access technology with DynamicAccess features allowing the card to be an active network component that interacts with your network to improve performance. Additional DynamicAccess features include Desktop dRMON (Distributed RMON) support, Efficient Multicast Control, and PictureTel LiveShare Plus dataconferencing software. Other DynamicAccess features will continue to be added to the XL series in the future through simple software upgrades. The card has one LED that glows to indicate link integrity of a 10BASE-T hub and will flash if the polarity of the wire is reversed. Installation is a breeze with these cards using the AutoLink software, which consists of a single step procedure. Also included is the EtherDisk XL software, which contains drivers for most of the popular operating systems.

...as lasting, after the installation and the installation what both rather quickly and simply went, to this day, had never to open my computer because of this card I it works faultlessly to this day.
I use it for my small network, what consists of three computers or if friends come to the gamble to me.
Up till now I didn't as said have any problems with it yet and I think I am also absolutely satisfied with their speed who already needs a 1000 Mbit card at home, then?
So nothing bad gives to report, I have used it for my DSL once a while, too and it worked and harmonized faultlessly also there, I really only can recommend it if spare one extra card, one of the good manufacturer 3COM then.

Advantages: Reduce TCO Disadvantages: not really for home use
...3Com's excellent network interface card (NIC)certainly cuts the mustart especially for the desktop. It gives 10Mbps over CAT 3, 4 or 5, and 100Mbps for CAT 5. It has the usual RJ45 and BNC connections for ethernet networks. Installation is a dream especially on plug and play operating systems. For the network management freaks among you it has :-
1) Performance Management
2) Network Management (over switched networks)
3) Remote Wake Up (RWU)
4) Desktop Management capabilities.
Overall the card is extremely reliable and robust.
Advantages: Reduce TCO, Easy installation
Disadvantages: could be too costly for the home user...

...Picture the scene. My friends and I (note the good English!) have just finished our A-levels, and have about 3 months free to have some fun. One of your friends parents go away, and he decides to have a party. But this is no normal party, this is a network party!
It may sound a little sad to most people, but it's actually quite a lot of fun. Computer games you see, that's the reason! A lot of the computer game doubters say that they are an anti-social affair, but that could not be further from the truth. Computer games are better when played with or against another person, but unfortunately for us PC gamers the chance to do this is not all that common. The internet does allow you to play against others, but the slow speed of a normal 56K modem limits the type of game you can play, and the speed at which you can play it. The answer lies...
