..., ME, 98 and Mac OS 9) the system works faultlessly. Broadband internet access is shared on demand amongst the access machines. Even with all 4 machines accessing I still receive over the expected data speed ( i.e. 150kbps /4 ) which is nice. Package = You get; the 4-port connection router [that has a WAN port to connect your modem and 4 ethernet ports to connect your computers. It also has another 'uplink' port to connect further ethernet hubs/switchs that I have not used], setup CD, quick-start 'poster style' guide, technical support contact details and a 1m length of Cat5 ethernet cable. To conclude: this router is of excellent quality and value and does exactly what it says on the box with minimal fuss and with simple setup instructions. Advantages: Fast and reliable and loads of network choice..

.... Push the card firmly into the slot without damaging it. Screw in the little retaining bolt and reassemble your case. Turn on the power and your computer should automatically detect the new hardware. Follow the onscreen instructions and insert the drivers in to the CD rom when prompted. Features. These are endless and really do allow it to be used with nearly all technologies. Firstly, the 3 main network technologies are catered for at the back of the card. This allows you to connect your PC to either BNC, AUI or the more modern RJ45 type networks. Sounds confusing? Well hopefully this will explain. The older style networks relied on Co-axial cables to carry information. It looks like a TV aerial lead and only carried data at up to 10mbps. Disadvantages: Doesn't support 100mbit speeds, but at this cost you can't really moan

...You can get one of these combo network cards for around £15 now! That’s £15 pounds for a stable, reliable and long lasting card! Most network cards seem to give up the ghost after a year but this one is still going. There are several versions of the card available and one will suit your needs. There’s the 1280T which only has the telephone style connector, the 1280BT which adds the coaxial BNC connector and finally the 1280BTA which adds the AUI or thick coaxial connector. To top it all off you get a driver disk that supports loads of operating systems, a T-Piece and a bit of coaxial cable – an all round great deal!... Read review
