Advantages: best way to get a wired ethernet port at the other end of a wireless connection Disadvantages: none
...This is a fabulous product! It is absolutely the BEST way to get wired ethernet at other end of a wireless connection.
his is a wireless bridge. It is like hanging a 6-port switch off one of the wired ethernet ports on your wired+wireless router, in that it gives you four more ethernet ports. However, it connects to your router wirelessly, so you can put it anywhere, and it doesn't use up any of the existing wired ethernet ports. With this device, you can have four more ethernet ports, equivalent to the ones that are on your wireless router, but but they can be anywhere in your home or office, because they are connected to the router wirelessly.
If you need a wireless connection to a device or computer that cannot use a dedicated wireless adapter, then a wireless bridge, like this, is the only way to do it.

...access point, as a point-to-point bridge with another access point, as a point-to-multi-point wireless bridge, as a wireless client, or as a wireless repeater. It also includes an embedded DHCP server that once enabled will automatically assign IP addresses to wireless clients and LAN clients, so it is considered a DHCP client which eliminates the need for a separate DHCP server on the network. This unique feature is ideal for quickly creating a wireless local area network whether in offices or other workplaces or a temporary network at trade shows or other events.

Advantages: Easy to install, up and running within 15 minutes Disadvantages: Wall units seem to get very hot, very quickly
...from opening the parcel to connecting to the extended wireless network. The package consists of a quick start installation guide, extensive documentation in several languages on the accompanying CD, and the hardware itself: two plug-in units and an Ethernet cable (this is only about 1 metre long, which is a bit on the short side). The quick installation manual describes the steps you need to take with the minimum of fuss, using simple instructions and clear diagrams to explain the points.
Assuming that you already have a functioning wireless set-up, all you need to do is plug the primary unit, the EthernetBridge, directly into a wall socket (using power strips or splitters is not recommended of course) and connect this unit to your router with an Ethernet cable. The secondary unit, the Wireless Range Extender, is plugged into a socket...
