The 3Com Router 3000 family are small business and enterprise-ready WAN routers designed for use in a branch or remote office environment, and complement the 3Com Router 5000...
more...family. Supporting combinations of single or dual high-speed serial, ISDN or T1 or E1 WAN interfaces, there is a model suited for most business requirements. The routers help protect the purchase investment and eliminate hidden upgrade costs by being equipped with 64MB operating memory and full feature operating software with widely-used routing and security features, including: IP/IPX Routing, OSPF, BGP-4, QoS, Multicast, 802.1Q VLAN, VPN, Firewall, and more. The 3Com Router 3018 includes one high-speed E1 port operating in full unframed E1, fractional E1, channelized E1 or ISDN PRI mode. The router is designed for a remote branch of an enterprise and includes 64MB of memory and full feature software that is standard on the 3000 family. The router has a built-in 10/100 auto-sensing Ethernet port for LAN connectivity, a console port for direct management access, plus an auxiliary port that can be used as a 115, 200 baud serial interface or for connection to an external modem either as a back-up port data path or management access.

Router minefield!!!
Review of NETGEAR DG834G 54 Mbps Wireless ADSL Firewall Router - wireless router by  zakkman

Advantages: ease of setup,reliable connection
Disadvantages: not the fastest on the market

...When looking to go wireless in the computer world it is an absolute minefield when it comes to wireless routers/modems. I sat at my latop(tethered to the telephone socket with wires) scouring google for write ups about this router and that router when i came across this one. Now this is rated as being the best selling router/modem in the UK and has been for some time. I think i paid around £40 from ebuyer.com. I chose it because of the fact its reasonably priced. Its a good trustworthy brand and it seemed to come up to scratch on speed. Upon opening the box the installation was very simple indeed. I just followed the instructions that came with the router and hey prsto i was wireless on my laptop.Software is easy to install and self explanatory. Its not the fastest band of router on the market but for what i needed it was ample... Read review

Belting Belkin Router!
Review of Belkin N1 Vision - wireless router by  Claire_DC

Advantages: Fairly easy to set up, easy to use, reliable, looks good.
Disadvantages: Bandwidth Innacurate.

...We'd wanted to upgrade our router for a while to cope with Rich playing on his Xbox online mainly as we kept getting lag, which was especially apparent if I was also browsing the net (which I generally was) even to the point of Rich being disconnected mid game. He was getting annoyed with it so when we saw this router on offer at ebuyer.com for £69.99 (but has since gone back up to its previous price of £89.99); I jumped at the chance to get it and now we have it, I thought it was worth writing a review about, so here we are! My review will be based on my experience of the router, and not a full technological break down of what it is capable of etc as that is readily available online from the manufacturer and would probably bore most people to tears anyway. The first thing I notice when opening the box is how big the router is... Read review

Low Cost Enterprise Security Firewall Router
Review of Draytek Vigor 2950 - router by  Deru

Advantages: Powerful, Easy to configure, Good support, Low cost
Disadvantages: Needs extra 'modem' for each broadband Connection, Occasional reboots required

...at my work place, I noticed a dramatic speed increase in page loading for Intranet pages. Everything was all good but a few months down the line, users started to report slow web page loading times for all website, which I would fix by rebooting the router. However, this repeatedly happened on a weekly basis and on some occasions, setting the site restrictions seemed to have caused the same slowness symptom after clicking the Save button so I duly contacted Draytek to see what I could do. They suggested upgrading the firmware, which I did and this resolved the problem. Now, I do not need to reboot the router as often (2-3 months each time at least). I’ve done a number of firmware updates for the 2950 at the various offices, usually to resolve minor problems or to add new features and added reliability. It is good that Draytek are... Read review
