The 3Com Router 3041 provides all of the components needed to give remote office and teleworkers secure, cost-effective access to the Internet or corporate networks over a broadband ADSL connection with ISDN backup. The router includes an integrated ISDN-S/T backup port and a four-port switch for local LAN connections. The 64MB DRAM, 8MB flash memory, and operating software support a full complement of routing, integrated security, and quality of service features required by today's remote office. As this router is equipped with a full complement of memory and routing functionality, there are no hardware, memory or software upgrades required or available - everything a business needs is included with the base system. The 3Com Router 3041 operates over ordinary analog phone lines (POTS: Plain Old Telephone Service) so you don't have to invest in additional phone lines or special wiring. The ISDN port can be used as a primary or backup port to the broadband ADSL connection.
Advantages: ease of setup, reliable connection Disadvantages: not the fastest on the market
...When looking to go wireless in the computer world it is an absolute minefield when it comes to wireless routers/modems. I sat at my latop(tethered to the telephone socket with wires) scouring google for write ups about this router and that router when i came across this one. Now this is rated as being the best selling router/modem in the UK and has been for some time. I think i paid around £40 from ebuyer.com. I chose it because of the fact its reasonably priced. Its a good trustworthy brand and it seemed to come up to scratch on speed.
Upon opening the box the installation was very simple indeed. I just followed the instructions that came with the router and hey prsto i was wireless on my laptop.Software is easy to install and self explanatory. Its not the fastest band of router on the market but for what i needed it was ample...

...We'd wanted to upgrade our router for a while to cope with Rich playing on his Xbox online mainly as we kept getting lag, which was especially apparent if I was also browsing the net (which I generally was) even to the point of Rich being disconnected mid game. He was getting annoyed with it so when we saw this router on offer at ebuyer.com for £69.99 (but has since gone back up to its previous price of £89.99); I jumped at the chance to get it and now we have it, I thought it was worth writing a review about, so here we are!
My review will be based on my experience of the router, and not a full technological break down of what it is capable of etc as that is readily available online from the manufacturer and would probably bore most people to tears anyway.
The first thing I notice when opening the box is how big the router is...

Advantages: Powerful, Easy to configure, Good support, Low cost Disadvantages: Needs extra 'modem' for each broadband Connection, Occasional reboots required
...at my work place, I noticed a dramatic speed increase in page loading for Intranet pages. Everything was all good but a few months down the line, users started to report slow web page loading times for all website, which I would fix by rebooting the router. However, this repeatedly happened on a weekly basis and on some occasions, setting the site restrictions seemed to have caused the same slowness symptom after clicking the Save button so I duly contacted Draytek to see what I could do. They suggested upgrading the firmware, which I did and this resolved the problem. Now, I do not need to reboot the router as often (2-3 months each time at least). I’ve done a number of firmware updates for the 2950 at the various offices, usually to resolve minor problems or to add new features and added reliability.
It is good that Draytek are...
