We'd wanted to upgrade our router for a while to cope with Rich playing on his Xbox online mainly as we kept getting lag, which was especially apparent if I was also browsing the net (which I generally was) even to the point of Rich being disconnected mid game. He was getting annoyed with it so when we saw this router on offer at ebuyer.com for £69.99 (but has since gone back up to its previous price of £89.99); I jumped at the chance to get it and now we have it, I thought it was worth writing a review about, so here we are!
My review will be based on my experience of the router, and not a full technological break down of what it is capable of etc as that is readily available online from the manufacturer and would probably bore most people to tears anyway.
The first thing I notice when opening the box is how big the router is ...

If it packs up, getting a replacement router from Belkin takes about 1-2 weeks so pretty good turnaround. For me, after a bit of email communication and some troubleshooting tips from Belkin, I managed to return the faulty one (free post) and get a new one (UPS Express delivery) in under a week! Posted on Saturday and received new one on Friday. Great service from Belkin. Just keep your ISP's router as a backup and the week wait isn't so bad as you'll still have Internet access during the process. I didn't even need to provide proof of purchase.
It's a lifetime manufacturer's warranty and free technical support (local call rate) with this router, which did sway me into buying this particular router.

DRAYTEK VIGOR 2950 ENTERPRISE FIREWALL
The Draytek Vigor 2950 Enterprise Firewall is a hardware firewall and router aimed at medium sized to large businesses. I?ve set up and am using six of these routers at a certain company with offices around London and have been using them for a few years now and was done as an upgrade from the Draytek Vigor 2600 and 2800 routers that were previously in use. The reason for the upgrade to the 2950 was due to the VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection being slow with the previous models. This was probably due to the processor in the router not being powerful enough to encrypt and decrypt the data more quickly. The 2950 has a dedicated co-processor just for the VPN, so performance would be better. It costs around £320 but price varies from supplier to supplier.
