Manufacturer's product description
The SpaceMouse Plus is a high performance motion controller proven to enhance productivity and comfort for users of demanding 3D software applications. With 11 programmable buttons, you can keep functions and macros right at your fingertips. Demand the best tools for the job and grab onto the power of your software with both hands Operating together with a traditional mouse, the SpaceMouse Plus delivers a more efficient and balanced way to work. Simultaneously pan, zoom or rotate 3D models or datasets with the controller in one hand, while the other hand selects, inspects or edits with the mouse. Eliminate tedious and repetitive steps that put unnecessary stress on your mouse hand. Users of 3Dconnexion motion controllers report up to a 30% increase in productivity and as little as half the repetitive mouse movement. The response from users has been consistent: once you start using the SpaceMouse Plus, you can't live without it.

...I got my wireless mouse last year as a christmas gift,
It came complete with mouse, receiver, batteries and C.D. software.
Installing the software is simple and takes just a matter of minutes, the C.D. guides you step by step and is so easy you cant go wrong.
Set up was very easy....the reciever has a 1 metre cable which plugs into the USB port,
the reciever itself is slightly smaller than the mouse and is placed on your desktop.
The mouse takes 2 AA batteries and fits nicely into the palm of your hand and has 3 button control........left click ,right click and middle click for manual or automatic scrolling.
Being wireless this free's your desktop from the clutter of cords, enabling you to move the mouse more freely without being restricted.
The mouse works accurately and reliably 1 metre away from the receiver...

Advantages: Solid, responsive, comfortable, great looks, unique cable storage, three year warranty Disadvantages: Mouse software must be downloaded, comes in an annoying impenetrable blister pack.
...main gripe (and I’m probably alone in this) is that you need to download software to fully get the most out of the mouse instead of it being supplied on a CD. (I have the same gripe with games that have the manual on the CD), but this is a minor issue which can be overlooked.

Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP.
Mac OS X v10.1.2-10.3.3.
It also works fine with my version of Linux ( Mandriva 2005).
It is a very comfortable mouse to use. It has the usual left/right buttons and scroll wheel (which scrolls left/right/up/down, zooms in and out, and acts as a middle button). It also has a button centrally placed on top so for example you can switch between 2 open Word documents. It has a further 2 thumb buttons on the left which give back/forward on the web.
I would guess left-handed folk might not like it, although you don't have to use your thumb for the side buttons and it might be fine.
As always it is best to shop around. Ebuyer.com is always a good place to look, as is Ebay or any other online retailer. Expect to pay around £40 including postage. PC World (online) is also a good place to look. Their online...
