WOW!
Review of Creative Inspire T3000 by
Neff
Advantages: Easy to set up, simple connection, good price
Disadvantages: Not found any yet!
...Ordered from Ebuyer Sunday evening, arrived here Tuesday morning just after 10!
Reassuringly heavy packaging left nothing to the imagination - great show of whats in the box and packaged well to boot!
Within 5 mins of having it out of the box it was up and running connected to my E-MU 1820m breakout box as a secondary set of speakers (it's allready connected to my studio monitors but I wanted some for gaming etc).
Having the wired remote for the speakers is a great idea - saves fiddling around ontop of/behind the sub as so many other manufactureres use.
Once connected, fired up the machine and gave them a balst o my favorite tracks - excellent and crisp high/mid range and a wonderfully punch bottom end. Although if ypu crank the bass level up as far as it goes it is a bit too over the top - maybe that's just my taste that can...

Review of HP Color LaserJet 3800 by
Dragonlight
Advantages: prints fast, good quality prints, low maintenance, long cartridge life
Disadvantages: poor photograph print quality
...the teenagers completing their homeworking, this for me is an all singing, all dancing piece of machinery which prints at a speed of 22 pages per minute in black and white and it averages at 18-20 pages per minute in full colour depending on your graphics. As I mostly print bar charts and pie charts I can expect it to print at 20 pages per minute without fail. The dpi is 600 x 600 whether you print in black and white or in full colour, so this is quite a serious printer and it suited me for my needs.
The tray capacity is slightly larger than my last model at it holds approximatley 250 sheets of A4 paper and there is a pull down front where you can put around 100 sheets of A4 paper to start printing. This machine doesn't print anything bigger than A4 but you can, I am told, use it to print onto envelopes, labels, and glossy photograph paper...

Superb Sony technology, but not Sony quality
Review of Sony VAIO F707 - PIII 600 MHz - 14.1" TFT by
137699
Advantages: Slick Design, Fantastic Features, Thin & Light
Disadvantages: Disgraceful out-of-warrenty policy, Fall apart far too soon, Very expensive to repair
...of these laptops, all similar spec.
It was a joy to use, quick, easily upgradeable, and I got on well with this unit for about 12 months. As did the other users... then the Sony Vaio experience went very wrong.
One day, I opened up my laptop in front of a customer, to hear an awful "crack" noise, and the screen came away from the laptop - the hinge had busted. Bad luck for me, or so I thought, until over the coming 3 months, EVERY SINGLE vaio we had busted their hinges also (despite much lubricant being used on the rest after the first two had broke!). Being slightly over 1 year old, Sony kindly advised us that they were out of warranty, and would be repaired as follows:
£80 for them to look at it
£200 for a new hinge
£40 courier fees to/from Switzerland where their repair centre is.
PER LAPTOP!
So we decided against this, and battled on...
