Advantages Generally good phones, introduction of £10 top up and no expiry after 30 days
Disadvantages Customer service, reception
As a 3 PAYG customer, the only bad things I have experienced is the customer service and the reception. However, I know a few people on contracts who have had nothig but trouble with billing, customer services and several faulty handsets. Saying that, you can't go far wrong on PAYG. The Motorola phones are awful, so I advise going for the NEC phones which are pretty good. I have the NEC 616V, and it is a great phone.
The network often crashes, which means not being able to make or receive calls/texts. This is for the Midlands area, so I don't know what the coverage is like for other parts of the UK. The top ups have improved 10 fold, as you can now get the £10 top up and they have scrapped that awful 30 day validity period.
Battery life with all 3 phones are awful, but that's due to the natur of the phones themselves. They should include some Nokia's into their PAYG.
Hutchinson has a good idea going on, but needs to make some radical improvements to encourage contract customers to stay, but the PAYG is not bad. I would NOT use this network for business use, due to the poor reception.
