£6! For something that doesn't work very well - I could buy bucketloads of aspirin for that price.
As I am writing this, I have a pounding headache. I work at a computer most of the day, and it could be due to eyestrain. I asked my workmates if they had any aspirin or paracetamol - to no avail.
However, one kindly soul had a stick of 4head. I must admit I was sceptical. However, I had nothing to lose, so I might as well give it a go.
It is advertised as a "natural", "alternative", pain relief. (This is the usual sort of ploy used to flog expensive products to gullible people). Aspirin provides natural pain relief for a fraction of the price. It was discovered thousands of years ago (in 400BC!), as it can be extracted from a tree - I think it is the oak (not sure). A quick trip to google informs me that it is the willow that aspirin comes from - chewing willow leaves also alleviates pain.
Anyway - back to the point, this is a complete waste of money. If you put it on your head, you get a cooling sensation due to menthol vapour - much the same effect would be had if you rubbed Vicks on your head. This does alleviate the pain very slightly, but only in the short term and even then my headache is still very much present.
If you think about it, there is no way that this could have any clinical effect on a headache - due to that thick bone between your skin and your brain - the skull. The stuff won't even pentrate the skin!
Of course there is always the placebo effect, but this is limited, and only works if you "believe" in the product. This is completely pointless - if you "believe" taking tap water will help, then it will - a little! There is no point in spending £6 on a placebo.
Get some paracetamol, aspirin or ibuprofen instead. Get an own-brand rather than a proprietary brand as they cost much less and have exactly the same ingredients. Don't waste your money on this quackery.

I wondered about this product and how well it would work. I'm prone to headaches but think I'll stick to my usual pain relief. :)

If you have a humdinger of a headache then I doubt this would work at all - if you have a tension headache then it might well work - it does for me at least. Whilst aspirin may work on a headache, prolonged use can cause stomach problems and too much paracetemol can damage your liver. Therefore my view is that if you can avoid them so much the better!

We bought some for our daughter when she wasn't allowed any aspirin or patracetamol for medical reasons - it did help a bit. Maureen
