Well let's face it, nobody in their right mind is going to opt for 7UP if there's Irn Bru to be had...or even Coke/Pepsi/Fanta etc. Still, at least it's wet, and if the machine isn't completely goosed, cold. Besides, ... ...back out of the blurry machine? It's far, far easier to get troops out of Iran...oops, Iraq.
So what do you get for your hard earned 50p?
You gets a can of lime and lemon flavoured, sugar loaded, carbonated water, that's what you gets.

Dontcha just hate it when you stick your money in a vending machine only to suddenly notice the almost itsy-bitsy, totty wee light that tells you that your favoured choice of (in this case, soft drink) is no longer available? Well let's face it, nobody in their right mind is going to opt for 7UP if there's Irn Bru to be had...or even Coke/Pepsi/Fanta etc. Still, at least it's wet, and if the machine isn't completely goosed, cold. Besides, have you ever tried to get your grubby little 50p back out of the blurry machine? It's far, far easier to get troops out of Iran...oops, Iraq.
So what do you get for your hard earned 50p?
You gets a can of lime and lemon flavoured, sugar loaded, carbonated water, that's what you gets. Y'know, for years I thought 7UP was just a fancy type of lemonade. I didn't even know there was lime in it. I mean, I knew there was something else apart from just lemon flavour...something that gave it a nasty tang that made your kisser pucker up like a constipated octogenarian. Personally, I think they should stick to using lime for fertilizer and throwing into mass graves. Yucky stuff.
Actually, the lime isn't all that strong or prominent in the flavour of 7UP, just enough to mask the flavour of the lemon some would say, while other would suggest there's just enough to spoil an average fizzy drink. You pays your 50p, you takes your chance. I find the flavour of this just too acerbic. My idea of a sharp, tangy kick doesn't involve screwing up my face and puckering my mouth till it's practically inside out. If I wanted to do that I'd just drink a bottle of Corona with a stoopid lime stuck in the neck of it sheep-like. Incidentally, the lime is traditionally stuck in a bottle of Mexican beer to stop flies and other nasty bugs getting into your beverage, not because it looks cool...which it don't. Oh dear, I started to go off on one there.
Nope, this stuff isn't very nice. Of course, lemon and lime (or lemon...or lime) isn't my favourite flavour - it's not even my 100th favourite, so I'm probably the wrong person to be writing a balanced and impartial review of a lime and lemon flavoured drink. But, I've started, so I'll finish (hmm, I like that, it should be a catchphrase).
Right. 7UP is a lime and lemon flavoured drink that comes in cans and bottles of varying sizes and prices, but a 330ml can is more than enough for me. You can also get a diet version. It's actually not too heavily carbonated, thankfully, and served so chilled that it'd give a penguin an ice headache, it's refreshing. However, let that baby warm up a little and you'll find yourself the proud owner of a foul-tasting concoction of dubious fruity origin. The flavour is really artificial - not so much fruit of the tree as spawn of the test tube. It's like drinking a sweetened dose of pure citric acid...allegedly.
In case you hadn't noticed, I'm not a huge fan of 7UP...I'm not even a microscopic one. It doesn't taste very nice at all. As with godawful lagers, if it's freezing cold, the chilliness numbs your tastebuds to the extent that the buzz of the carbonation and the tickle of the citrus trick you into thinking it's a pleasant experience. But that's all it is, an illusion.
Am I being unfair? Am I being overly critical? Am I being too rhetorical? Do I care?
NO.
As I said, I'm not a great fan of lemon or lime...and especially lemon AND lime, so I was on a hiding to nothing right from the get go. If you ARE a fan of these flavours, you might enjoy 7UP more than me (you could hardly enjoy it less).
Still, it could be worse. What if all the machine had was...shudder...Lilt?

...is a review on the 7-Up Regular drink.
Occasionally, especially in summer, I enjoy a cool soft drink. One of my favourites is _7-Up_. Gasp! Why 7-Up? It doesn't tend to be that fashionable these days. Well, it is partly the taste and partly because of what it has in it. As far as _fizzy_ soft drinks go, I think it is quite a healthy choice. Today, I was quite pleased to see that they were on special offer at _Instore_. To be quite honest I think ... ...now called 7-Up.
_The 7-Up Regular contains - _
NO preservatives
NO colouring
NO caffeine
NO aspartame
You can now buy a _7-Up Free_ that does not contain any sugar, so I would guess that it has the artificial sweeteners.
In the United States the rights of the brand are held by the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and by PepsiCo in the rest of the world.
Their target market is for adults from the ages of 25 - 49 (who comes up with these figures?). ...

Advantages: Good thirst quenching flavour Disadvantages: price
It just shows how our taste buds change as we grow older (well mine anyway), as a young boy I always thought of 7Up as a lemonade. Looking back it was partly my fault as I never looked closely at the can and therefore what it in fact is. That being a Lemon and Lime flavoured soft drink.
I am no longer that little chap who enjoyed this and many other drinks by throwing them down my throat quicker than some premiership strikers fall in the penalty ... ...pass my taste buds. Maybe a sign of old age.
7Up as I said is a Lemon and Lime flavoured soft drink, the taste of lime is present although it is not overpowering it does mask the lemon. The somewhat drier taste of lime (a taste that causes my mouth to salivate freely) is present, I don't know how I missed this when I was younger. However it is a drink that really does quench the thirst. A lot of fizzy drinks tend to leave me either feeling thirsty ...

Advantages: Taste, texture, tickling the tongue Disadvantages: Schwepps is still supreme
Still going through the Morrison's offer pop, still with 3 to try (annoyingly that'll mean I need to buy 4 bottles) 7UP (this review), Lilt, and Tango (Orange flavour), with this being the first I'll be honest I'm kinda up for this one.
7Up is the Britvic rival to the Coca-Cola “Sprite” drink, which is a direct competitor as they are both “Lemon and Lime flavoured” fizzy drinks. This drink comes in an “All Green” uniform (or bottle to the uninitiated), ... ...and green label. A rather attractive bottle design, though it doesn't make the recognising of the colour of the drink difficult (so lets assume it's transparent just to make life easier). Whilst Sprite was a relative disappointment, leading me into drinking the glorious and much cheaper Morrison's branded Lemonade. I'm privately hoping 7UP won't disappoint in the same way as an over priced and very average drink. As lets be honest, with Coca-Cola ...

Advantages: Familiar brand, tastes good Disadvantages: Does it contain phenylalanine or not?
Ever since I was little my family has had lemonade and I've always had it when my tummy feels a little upset. Since having a stomach bug last summer this seems to happen quite often so I like to have a 500ml bottle with me when I'm out and about. When I went to Tesco today I expected to see only Sprite in the chiller, but to my delight next to this was 7up. I have a very vague, fond memory of drinking 7up as a child, and my brothers drawing cartoons ... ...bottles. I remember it being pretty much the only 'young' commercialised lemonade brand at around 1996...did Sprite even exist then? I don't know. Infact, 7up is a different type of lemonade as it is actually lemon and lime flavoured. I had never really paid much attention to this or noticed it until now.

~Water!~
Delving into my fridge after a de-hydrating night of heavy drinking, I am pleased to discover the glowing green shimmer of a cool bottle of 7up, nestled between two lettuces on the bottom shelf of my fridge. “To hell with the water” I thought as I reached for the bottle.
~Focus~
Before I opened the bottle to quench my lustful thirst, I held it in my hands observing the small pearls of water magnifying the different shades of green on ... ...being on a television advert, I rotated the bottle. The label displayed a large red dot between a “7" and an “up”. My thirst was undescribable. I could drink “7" “down” in “7" seconds given the chance.
~Quick Release~
I began to unscrew the bottle, with the little strength I had left from my exhausting night. The bottle fizzed and the gas was released, with the aromatic smell of lemon and lime. My nose told my mouth the good news of what to expect.

Advantages: A decent taste Disadvantages: All very averagey at an over inflated price
Morrison's is across the road from work, so as a result their offers are quickly seen and often accepted, especially this one where they are selling 2 bottles of branded "pop" for £1.60. These include Dr Pepper, Coca-cola, Lilt, Sprite, 7-up and Fanta, each coming in 500ml bottles. And with Fanta having already been tried, Sprite was next.
Unlike Fanta's rather ergonomic bottles (that I genuinely am a fan of) Sprites bottles are the more traditional ?rocket? shape, coming in a translucent green colour with a blue lid and green and blue label. The label obviously containing the now mandatory notes on nutrition and ingredients that we've come used to seeing plastered on everything we buy now a days.
With no glass available at work (and the ones at work look grubbier than the ones that are sat in my brothers car anyway) I decided this ...
Advantages: Healthy, Tastes Good Disadvantages: Tastes Healthy
-Oxidant (Ascorbic acid), Flavourings, Colour (Beta-Carotene).
These ingredients are not as bad as some fizzy drinks which are full of artificial colours, flavourings and sweeteners. There are 260 calories per bottle which is not good for a drink in my opinion.
The taste of this drink is really nice and refreshing. It actually tastes like mango juice mixed with soda water. The only problem is you can taste the mango juice and the sparkling water separately which is a bit strange. It tastes much healthier and natural than other fizzy drinks. It is extremely thirst quenching and refreshing which is great for the summer.
It is definitely worth a try. It is a healthy alternative to drinks like Fanta and 7up. The only problem is you can taste that it is the healthy alternative. ...
Advantages: Cheap Drink, Convenience Confectionery Complementary Product Disadvantages: I am sure this product is a designed to get people lazy, buying the chocs.
sunkist
This Drink that I am reviewing is a Product that is owned by cadbury schweppes, the same company that own dr pepper, 7up, snapple and Chocolate confectionery. It is widely distributed amongst newsagents, supermarkets, convenience stores, some Food retail stores.
'sunkist' orange soda is a carbonated Water Drink that contains fifty two grams of sugar per can. The Drink contains caffeine which is useful as an alternative to drinking coffee. The product contains zero per cent fat, zero per cent protein, forty two milligrams of sugar, and salt, as well as having fifty two grams of carbohydrates and one hundred and ninety calories.
So clearly sunkist is a Product that contains zero per cent fat, though at the same time it has high amount of sugar and salt content.
The marketing spin of this can of Drink is ...
