I would never recommend the AA driving school after the experience my husband and I had with them. We were due to move abroad and my husband wanted to fit in as many lessons as he can so he could pass asap. They assured us he would have a crash course and encouraged us to pay up front £500 for a block booking of lessons. This was not the case, the instructor only offered weekly lessons and most of them he canceled at the last minute. My husband arranged to have lessons inbetween with another school. As time was getting on we decided move on. We requested a refund of the lessons that we didnt take, which was most of them as the instructor kept cancelling on us. Anyway, they refunded most of the money apart from £80. When they refunded this they sent us a cheque in my husbands name which was spelt incorrectly. Also, it should have been in my name as I paid for the lessons. They informed us that we had to send the cheque back so I did recorded delivery and didnt hear anything for a month! I called them and they said someone from accounts will get back to me, its been a week now and no one has called. Since then, my husband has moved overseas and I have delayed my trip out there to join him so that i can sort out this loose end. Im due to travel soon and still dont know if Im going to get my money back!

Advantages: I passed! Learn in brand new Ford Focus, well trained Instructor, free AA membership for 12 months Disadvantages: cost - you pay for the good service you receive
