Having been a member for over a decade i can honestly say that i would discourage anyone else from joining them. I had to wait over 3 hours on more than 1 occasion, found them hopelessly unhelpful and constantly sent me wrong information when asked to send me specific info. On one occasion I had to wait 4 hours due to the staff at the centre failing to give the patrolman the right location. When he did eventually get it, he went off duty without passing on my details to the next one. It took several further calls before I got assistance. As you can imagine I changed to the RAC and I have been in them for several years now and found them to be immeasureably better! The contrast in service is huge and I would recommend them over the AA anytime.
