Advantages YOU THINK YOUR COVERED

Disadvantages YOUR NOT

Having been a long time AA member to say i was disgusted at the (lack of) service
recieved would be an understatement.

My car broke down at home with a broken water pump 3 weeks before a planned
euro trip, i would be unable to fix it myself so wanted recovery to my friends garage
unfortunately for me this was the start of the really bad weather and the AA were
predictably busy.

After eventually getting through on the phone i was told a patrol would attend before "close of play" that day despite my attempts to explain i didnt need a patrol
just recovery.

I recieved a call from the AA a few hours later to explain that as i was not a priority
the patrol (that i didnt want) would be anytime in the next 24 -36 hours when i attempted to explain that i needed recovery and not a patrol the caller became very
agresive and simply would not listen to my point of view.

Over the next few days i repeatedly called having to repeat all my details every time
name membership number make of vehicle location problem etc etc after a few dozen times this becomes very tedious, why not just give me a ref number.

Just like this review the saga went on and on somedays they said nobody was coming and then they would turn up when i was out, and other days when expected
they didnt come.

After almost 2 weeks an AA recovery truck eventually arrived driven by Mr attitude himself the guy is a disgrace to the name AA and from the off it was clear he would
rather be anywhere else,He eventually loaded my car on his truck and took it to my friends garage where he was just as rude/arrogant after he had "dumped" my car
by the road side my friend asked if the key was still in the ignition to which he replied
"not my problem" before walking away.

I wrote a letter of complaint to the AA and eventually spoke to somebody in the complaints dept who apologised and told me that the driver in question had admitted unaceptable behavoiour and had been disciplined he aplogised for his behaviour but to be honest it sounded like he was just going through the motions, i told him that i had cancelled my subscription and he said he would arrange for someone would call me but no one ever did.

Throughout the whole sorry saga the constant excuse was(widely forecsted) bad weather and your not a priority which i understand but even allowing for that almost 2 weeks for a recovery totally unaceptable.
