    Introduction : I’m going to write my first review in English. (I usually write in Ciao.fr, so I hope it will be clear enough). It concerns ABC Tutors (http://www.abc-tutors.co.uk). It is a website which allows tutors to register online for free on an online database. Anybody can register and you can teach any subject, anywhere in the UK (Except Ireland apparently) There is a moderator to check if the subjects and picture you submit are compatible with the aim of the site.     Disadvantages Disadvantages No attempt made to check the background or suitability of individual tutors.

    I read Frenchgirl's review and I am pleased it worked out for her. On the other hand, it might not have done. I spent some time on ABC's website and it filled me with grave concerns. They admit they make no attempt to screen either tutors or clients. Frenchgirl was lucky that she wasn't sent somewhere unsafe. From a client's point of view, this is just a glorified phone book. These people could be anybody. Look at Frenchgirl's comment, "But do you really need someone with a PhD to teach Maths to your 9 years old girl?" No, you don't but you do need to have experience of that age group ... more
