Advantages: Excellent for Overclocking Disadvantages: Needed a bios update
...I recently purchased the ABIT AV83rdEYEMotherboard and an Athlon 64 - 3000 (Winchester core) Processor.
I purchased the ABITMotherboard due to the fact my last motherboard was ABIT and I was totally satisfied with it.
When I got the AV8 set it all up with the new processor, I was let down because it did not work. As the processor was the latest version, the motherboard was unable to identify it, thus would not work. After purchasing a new bios chip for the board it fired up straight away.
So i installed windows and away i went.
I was totally amazed with the speed of the system and was so in awe of the new 3rdeye display.

Advantages: The stuff is weel packed, with all features and the drivers are compatible to Linux. Disadvantages: high speed, causes high bridge and CPU temperature. Use xtra Fans/heat sinks

the only issue was the heating of the bridge which was easily colled by placing a fan on top of it.
I rocks with Suse, Ubuntu Linux and Windows 2003 Server edition. Matrix storage tech with Intel RAID helped me to use my old 40 GB HDD via SATA converter, to create a RAID volume to store my critical files. Even in Linux we can do the same using dmraid module. Goes with NVIDIA Card as accelerator on the PCI express slot. Additional Power supply output on the Mother board helps us to use the same for controller cards (in my case SATA-IDE cards for my HDD). Supports more than 4 GB RAM (1GB X 4 slots). VMWARE Virtualization compatible....

...components of their system. When it comes to accessories the Gigabyte GA-8ANXP-D has a solid selection of cables, expansion brackets, and other components which gives value to your money. The motherboard’s surface has become far more crowded due to voltage generation devices necessary for the DDR-II modules and PCI-Express. Installing the CPU has became easier, you just push the pins through the four mounting holes, and you’re done
The GA-8AKXP-D packs in a solid selection of cables, expansion brackets, and other components that really give the end user a bang for their buck. If you’re looking for the best bang for your buck i925X board, recommend I’d to you all the Gigabyte GA-8ANXP-D....
