...This little unit is extremely helpful. It is a little black box that can easily fit into your laptop case with your laptop. It requires two AA batteries to work, and is extremely loud if tampered with. It has many features which can help you make sure that your laptop will be secure. On the top it has a four digit combination, and a meter length cable. This cable is long enough to be wrapped around a radiator or fixed table several times then to go through the locking mechanism which locks into the laptop. It has a Kensington lock which is the industry standard in laptop security. The unit has a button at the bottom which when pressed and held activates the movement alarm. ...I'm off to uni in october, and i'm going to be taking my laptop. I know you don't really think about it, but how many people are actually concerned about having things stolen from their rooms whilst at uni? Probably the most expensive item in there that will appeal to burglars will be the laptop. All laptops are built with a "Kensington Security Slot" already. Many people don't know it exists. Other people just think of it as a small hole in the side of the laptop. This hole can be the difference between having a laptop after returning from some place and not having a laptop. The Kensington Security Cable is the best way to secure the laptop. It works simply as a cable tie. Advantages: Universal fitting, nice bag for carrying and not to heavy, very strong

...I am the IT Support in our open plan office of 80 plus employees, we have several different makes and models of laptop and I was given the task of sourcing a cheap way to secure them all. I looked at the other mainstream alternative but at around £30 was a bit steep to buy, especially as I needed more than 20 of them. Then I saw the Belkin, it is very strong, easy to secure and fits all models that come with the Kensington hole. It gives you a lot of flexibility once secured, which I find handy as I often have to turn the laptops over for various work requirements, the padlock is very reassuring and the length of cable makes fitting round a desk leg very easy.
