Playable formats Devide is able to play almost all common formats including SCAD Multi and DVD-Audio what is not common for the price category of this device. The only one format which i wasnt able to play was Mini DV. The device recognizes it but it will not play. The supported are:DVD/CD/SVCD/VCD/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R/DVD-RW/ DVD+R/DVD+RW/ DivX 5/ DivX 4/ DivX 3/ DivX VOD/DivX ULTRA, MP3 / WMA, MPEG4-AAC. Video Supported is 4:3 and 16:9. Video is very high quality when playing DVD - it is sharp and live. There are many possibilities to set corrections for the video. The Denon is supplied with a sleek well designed remote control that for the most part is ergonomically friendly with buttons clearly differentiated by shape and colour. Image Quality This player makes use of a Silicon Image DVDO PureProgressiveTM SiI504 Decoding Engine. You have the option to adjust tint, brightness, contrast, sharpness and gamma as well as switching between two black levels, but if you make a mes of things you can always switch back to the default. Advantages: Small, Looks good, Works alright

...Ok, so maybe this is just a bad experience. Maybe, just maybe it's only my player that's gone wrong. But in my experience, which is what review writing is all about, this is a crappy DVD player. The reason I got it was because it's compact. Our living room was already set up quite nicely and there was a small space left near the TV. This DVD player was a perfect fit! It matched our Decor and I thought was a brilliant buy. It has lots of cool little features. The picture sharpness and Gamma (I don't know what it means either) control actually did make the picture quality better. In terms of playing DVD's this was a great quality player. It has all the connectors at the back, and switches to go with them, you could possibly want. No, there are no encoders on it, so you'll need a seperate system for that, but it can still output...
