Advantages: Pleasant sound for money, subtle styling, 5.1
Disadvantages: No mic input on remote, no individual control of speakers

...I recently bought these speakers to replace my 4.1s that I have owned for a number of years now. The front speakers on my old set were suffering from the abuse they have received, and I felt it was time to upgrade a little. When the box arrived, it was the size I expected for a 5.1 speaker set, although it was a plain cardboard box. This would appear to be OEM packaging, but it served the purpose well. A tray housed the 5 satelite speakers, and the sub had it's own polystyrene compartment. In addition to the speakers, you get the wired remote, and audio cable for connecting to your sound card, and the power supply. A simple installation diagram explains which cables to connect where for those unfamiliar with speaker setups. Advantages: great value for 6 speaker system, loads of cables, remote control, quality design
Disadvantages: Only 5 watts per channel, so a little weak if used in a big room

...as the amplifier for the other speakers. However, one great advantage of this speaker set is the ease of setting up. Each of the three front speakers (centre, front left and front right) come with 3m of speaker cable to attach to the subwoofer, thus allowing placement at quite a distance from each other. The rear two speakers come with 5m of cabling, which is generous. The advantage is, of course, you can spread the speakers around the room, forming a square with the front left and right, and rear left and right, thus allowing more spacious sound. The disadvantage is that most people will sit at their computer desks, and need the speakers quite close to them, thus leaving you with masses of unwanted cabling under the desk! Given that the speakers are only tiny and generate only 5watts per channel, there is little point in spreading the speakers too far... Read review
