...of the originals. I wondered how this could be so, as I had read that Lexmark had a patent on this type of cartridge, and they could not be copied. The answer I found out later, is that these “compatible” cartridges are in fact “recycled “ original cartridges, i.e.: second hand cartridges that have been donated, or sold for a minimal amount, to Companies who clean them up, refill them, and put them back into the marketplace, with the Lexmark logos removed, or as I discovered, on mine, a sticky label placed over the Lexmark original, on the front. The “Compatibles” I have used are branded “Alphajet,” They come in “Green” boxes with pictures of “rolling hills and lakes” ..Accentuating the “Green” idea of recycling, which I am all for, if it is successful. Advantages: Good Prices, Fast High Quality Output
Disadvantages: Microchips in the Cartridges, Uses Ink Quickly

...After my Epson 600 finally printed its last page and its spirit made off for printer heaven I was left printer-less in the midst of coursework hand in dates. After much consideration from shops and magazines, the Epson 680 came out as the obvious choice. I was looking for excellent print quality combined with speed, ease of use and low running costs and the 680 seemed to provide those. OK so the 680 is not the most USB friendly printer ever but it did work, every other time. Once I switched back to the parallel port it was cured. No more wasted pages. The printer itself is fast, prints excellent photographs on special paper and is cheapish to run. The microchips on the cartridge and constant charging of the cartridges seemed to use up more ink than I was printing with, and the noise factor was not too good either, especially at 6am after... Advantages: Fast, stable operating system and innovative design.
Disadvantages: The price, but well worth it.

...When I first saw the new design of new iMac in 2001, I fell in love with it. I loved its space age, contemporary look that has won numerous awards. Then I saw the price and my heart sunk. I didn't think I'd be able to afford it. Eventually I received some unexpected money and and ran out to buy this computer. Setting up the machine at my home work station was a snap. Apple included a set up guide but I did not need it. There are icons on the back of the machine to make matching up the plugs fail-safe. Installing the OS was also easy. I followed the instructions and I was up and running in no time. One great feature of the iMac is that it has the Classic environment (OS 9) and Aqua (OS X).
