Advantages: Easy to use, create professional looking labels

...is much like any conventional word processing program and is very intuitive and straightforward to use. You can cut and paste text and graphics from other software packages and save your work as unique individual label files. The thing to bear in mind when importing and using graphics is that the print resolution is tiny by modern standards – 120 dpi. So keep logos as large and as simple as possible for optimum results, and don’t expect your holiday snaps to come out legibly in glorious monochrome. That said, it is fine for printing text (which usually comes out better when bold), although if you look closely you will see the pixelated edges. A useful application of the graphics printing capability – which probably gives a good idea of the 2420 at the limit of its performance – is bar-code printing. ...Axiohm is a company that manufactures a range of barcode, label and point of sale printers. The 'Solus' model is the cheapest on the market and can be obtained from any Axiohm reseller. The best way to discover a reseller near you is to go to Axiohm's website at www.axiohm.co.uk... If you need a printer that is dedicated to produce labels and/or barcodes then, pricewise this unit cannot be beaten. It can be used in a direct thermal or thermal transfer mode and consumables are readily available. Last time I looked these units were being sold with a 2 year warranty as well ! The unit comes boxed with everything you need to get started including label making software. The downside is that Axiohm seem to be a bit vague in areas where technical support is required....
