...Reliable and easy to use cable - a must for anyone making a home network or even a business network. Although Belkin have released a few inferior products in the past, this cable brings thenm right back up again.
Category 5 cable such as this is the highest-quality UTP Cable. It is tested at 100MHz, allowing it to run high-speed protocols such as 100Mbps Ethernet and CDDI. Category 5 Cable also uses either 22 or 24 AWG unshielded twisted-pair wire and impedance of 100ohms.
It connects with RJ45 connectors (avaiable cheaply)
RJ-45 connectors look a bit like a standard phone connector but are twice as wide (with eight wires). RJ-45s are used for hooking up computers to local area Networks (LANs) or for phones with lots of lines....

Advantages: Good build quality, brand name Disadvantages: A bit pricey.
...didn't kink my cable on purpose to test this claim, I managed to bend it through a tight circle without any performance problems.
Looking at the performance aspects, I used the cable on a 100 Mb/s home network, where I replaced an older generic cable. There was no noticeable speed difference.
The cable is well constructed, with the plugs firmly attached to the cable. Small tabs sticking up next to the release tab prevent the cable from being dislodged from its socket by accident. The contacts are gold-plated, which whilst not providing any real performance gains, will probably increase the lifespan of the cable by resisting oxidation.
The only snag with this cable is its hefty price, compared to standard cables. Whether the small extra features are actually worth the extra money is debatable....

...to a modem, one via a USB (Universal Serial Bus cable that supports data transfers) and one via an Ethernet Cable (Bus cable supporting data transfers). However with the introduction of a new PC, my machine was moved to a different room, hence the requirement of a longer, Networkingcable that could support the data transfer requirements and provide flawless data transmission.
Computers that are linked up to a LAN are connected using Cat-5 Cables. Cat-5 is short for Category 5; the definition for networkcabling that consists of four twisted pairs of copper wire terminated by RJ45 Connectors (Registered Jack 45 – an 8 wire computer connector). RJ45 Connectors look very similar to the RJ11 connectors used to connect telephone equipment but they are slightly wider/ Standard Category 5 cabling supports frequencies of 100Mhz and speeds up to 1000...
