I was looking for a low cost video editing solution, to play around with home videos of the family. I have always been interested in this as a hobby, and used the Amiga and genlock for video titling in the past.
Last year, I traded in my old svhs-c camcorder, for a JVC digital model, and started to look for ways of getting my videos edited cheaply. I had seen the price of firewire cards coming down, and was drawn to the ADSPyro DV card. Having checked out their site, I found a dealer in the UK selling them for a very low price. I have no affiliation with this company, but have nothing but praise for LynxDV, who offered a brilliant service.
Anyway, the PyroDV kit, comes with an internal PCI card, offering 3 IEEE-1394 ports, a Firewire Cable, Instructions and two first class pieces of software from Ulead - VideoStudio and Media ...

Advantages: Once you listen to black metal of this ilk there is no going back to the more traditional. Disadvantages: People do not listen to this type of music with an open ear and this album is a tough one
With Ordo Ad Chao, Mayhem have taken the immutable principles of black metal and have created an album that, I believe, along with the music of Deathspell Omega, starts to redefine what black metal is.
Black metal used to be an excersise in making essentially very melodic music fast, atmospheric and controversial.
The cutting edge of black metal is now very different. The one weak point in most black metal is the use of defined melody, harmony that is essentially no different to other music and is just presented in a 'black metal' idiom.
What Mayhem have created here is a sound that bears little to no resemblance to old black metal yet is more black than the likes of darkthrone or ulver.

2000AD.. The Galaxy's Greatest Comic! It's a weekly comic that most newsagents stock (sadly, normally in the kids section) and features five 6-page stories per issue, the most famous character being Judge Dredd. And I owe it to John Wagner et al to point out the movie was sub-standard pap...
This is the best advertisement for British creative talent around, but sadly most creators disappear to America for the money and use up all their great ideas on the superhero-churning machines that are DC and Marvel - except Grant Morrison who has way too much imagination... So what 2000AD offers it's readers is opportunities to enjoy up-and-coming fresh-faced creators mixed in with a few old school stalwarts. And that is the best thing, because there will always be at least one story you enjoy in this anthology mag to keep you interested ...
