Now you may think that’s pretty big for an old man of 87 on his own but it really is useful. He lives in a small village his nearest supermarket about 5 miles away, ok there is a tiny village shop come post office. Dad still grows some of his own vegetables and some soft fruits so he can freeze excess. What’s more when I visit I usually take some home cooked meals casseroles shepherd’s pies and the like so he can use them when he needs too.
This is a freezer with good energy rating A. • Low energy consumption: only 319kWh per year It has fast freeze facility, not that I think dad uses that. The freezing controls are easy to use. Push button. The controls are also child proof .(they have not met my grandson yet he can solve most controls better than I can) If dad has a power cut the freezer temperature will take 20 hours to rise from -19cto – 9c A good thing is it has a self closing door so that if he leaves the door slightly open it will close itself. If the door is left open or the inside temperature gets to be dangerously high for food storage there is a bleeping sound. (Not that dad can hear it.) The door is very easy to open, no problem for dads arthritic fingers. The door can be arranged so that it hinges either on the right or the left. There are 7 see through drawers/freezer baskets to store your food in this freezer. The bottom draw is big enough to store a 20lb turkey
The floors in dads cottage are uneven the freezer can stand straight though because it has adjustable feet. (Wish I had)
Overall I think this is a good freezer. It has a standard 1 year guaranteed with options of buying longer warranties. There have been no problems with it electrically in the few years my father has owned it.
