Advantages: Quiet, washes very well Disadvantages: Many parts replaced - not 100% reliable
...After having two mid-range dish washers I pursuaded my hubby to let me have one of the makes that is considered to be up there with the best (a premium brand) I really wanted a Bosch, but couldn't get one, so the AEG was second best choice. This was about three years ago.
On the whole I have been very pleased with the machine, it washes lovely, dries thouroughly, has a suitable amount of choice of programmes, it has a timer that I have never used. However, over the last 13 months it has become unreliable. We cover our white goods with a well known insurance policy provided by a utility company, it's expensive, but call them out a couple of times a year and you've soon got your money back, and if it wasn't for this policy the dishwasher would have been thrown out months ago.
December 2005 - a new pump was fitted.

Advantages: Timer delay start/ easy to use/ sufficient number of programmes Disadvantages: Very poor washing quality!
...This d/w looks good, is easy to use and has a delay start facility.
The washing quality is appalling - I use a soapy brush before putting 90% of items in yet genenrally have to wash 40% when I take them out. This is usually pots, pans and cooking utensils (eg spatula etc) and cutlery. Usually this problem is rectified if I use the 'intensive' wash programme but I prefer to use the 'energy saving' programme.
Even when items are washed well and the programme has finished 3-5 hours earlier, items are still wet and have watermarks.
Both of these occur despite ensuring the rinse aid and salt levels are maintained and the recommended d/w tabs are used.
The d/w is easy to fill though the top cutlery tray should be deeper or wider to make it more practical (I cook 2 proper meals a day and generate quite a lot of items).
The cutlery basket can...

Advantages: Quiet, flexible easy loading depending on things to wash Disadvantages: None
...I have been using dishwashers since 1976 and the Aeg F80860 has to be the best one so far. The installation instructions included in the manual are comprehensive and are easy to follow. The machine was ready to use, as soon as the salt had been added and run through empty.
The only sound that can be heard is the water running through the pipes when the machine draws water or lets it go down the drain.
It has a short cycle of 30 minutes for those rinsed, less soiled dishes. There is also the option to have an economic wash which can be programmed to run at night. Somewhere in between is a programme to suit every load of dishes. Easy enough to set the programme or leave it on one setting for the same type of wash each time.
The dish wracks all fold down for maximum flexibility. Glass holders can be used to hold the long-stemmed or beer...
