I refer ... ...Actually alarm is not the correct word because to me alarm is something that sounds when something is wrong. Not on this machine, the alarm sounds for absolutely everything. It serves no dianostic purpose because it's always flipping bleeping. It's very loud and can be hard two rooms away, that's not an exaggeration.

I refer to the ridiculous, unnecessary and extremely LOUD audible alarm. Actually alarm is not the correct word because to me alarm is something that sounds when something is wrong. Not on this machine, the alarm sounds for absolutely everything. It serves no dianostic purpose because it's always flipping bleeping. It's very loud and can be hard two rooms away, that's not an exaggeration.
It bleeps when you press the buttons to select programme setting and when the cycle is complete the stupid machine SCREAMS at you non-stop. it's not like it bleeps once or twice to let you know cycle is finished (although I don't need this since I know the cycle has ended because my house stops vibrating). It will go on and on for hours.
One day I used the delay start to do a load while I was out at work. My neighbours complained when I got home that they had this bleeping non-stop for hours.
There is absolutely no point in this alarm, it's annoying and makes my blood boil as soon as it starts. You have to immediately stop whatever you're doing which might cooking and handling hot pans because the machine is screaming at you.
Don't buy it. You can't disable this alarm, it serves no purpose, it will drive you mental and Customer Services are useless. I emailed them, rang them and they wouldn't simply answer the question "can I turn this stupid noise off". The only way they will answer this simple question is if I write to them with my life story beforehand.
Surely you can do better AEG/Electrolux? It was quite a simple question. The fact they wouldn't answer tells me either a) they don't care or b) know it's a stupid invention but are powerless to give me some peace.
I hate this machine. I don't just mean I don't like it, I'd prefer another model, I mean I HATE IT. I'd love to smash the brute with a sledgehammer to shut it up.
Just picture it; it's Sunday, you're relaxing in bed with the Sunday papers and breakfast, the birds are chirping, the sun's shining through your window. Next thing you know you have your stupid washing machine going off like a house alarm. Don't buy it!

The AEG-Electrolux 74810 Lavamat is a very durable and efficient machine which enables its user to select an option at a touch of a button. With its standard LED display the user would always know what stage their clothes are at and how long left. This A rated washine machine is not one to disappoint offering a wide selection of tasks and options, nobody would be dissapointed with its price tag of £349.
However, as a user of this machine myself ... ...thing that can be criticised about this machine is its spinning. Frstly when spinning the machine creates a lot of noise and secondly you have to select the lowest spin options as it would leave your clothes very hard to iron. To avoid some of this I recommend that the spin option should be left on 700/500 rpm and not its max of 1400 rpm. I would strongly recommend this machine to anybody looking for effieciency and quality in their wash. ...
