AENEON DRAM 512 MB PC2-5300

...An overall look at the Corsair Microsystems 512 MB DRAM shows its fast (lives up to the specifications it boasts), easy to fit (realy depends on the mother board), but lacks all forms of documentaion. To the day to day computer user this ram is particulart special. The ram lives up to the speed boasted by its specifications well. Unlike some ram i have worked with that says 200mhrz and behaves like 10mhrz. The ram is fairly reliable, you can run fiarly ram extensive applications and the ram will continue to perform like it should. If you plan to overclock your ram to increase its performants furthure this ram would be a good choice. The ram can be overclocked fairly high without and addition expensive cooling equipment, I strongly discourage this ram to any computer illitrate people as they would have a hard time fitting it. With 2 modules of ram each with 1024 Megabytes of Ram (2 x 1Gb) with Speeds Up To 667 Mhz, This upgrade is fantastic for any computer user that wants to multitask and use memery hungry applications. I bought this ram for £65 a month ago but i'm sure you can get this cheaper. The Ram was very easy to install, I opened my case, found the two 240-pin DIMM Slots, pushed down both of the safty caches and slotted in both of the modules making sure i didn't touch any part of the chips on the Ram which may make it unusable due to static electricity in the skin. If you are going to install the Ram yourself I recommend that you invest in an anti-static ristband... Read review

...At the end of the day memory is memory, whether it is a generic brand or Kingston or Crucial isn't really going to affect things that much. However when choosing your memory be aware of what kind of memory it is you are choosing. The first thing is MB - MegaByte. This could be 128, 256, 512 and so on the more Megabyte you have the quicker your system should run. As this is 256MB you have a good size for running normal everyday tools such as Outlook, Internet and Word. However if you are into CAD drawing, using your PC as server or intense games you might want to look at 512MB. The next thing is memory speed. In this case it is 333mhz (PC2700). It could be 266mhz or 400mhz. Obviouslt the higher the better. However in order to really utilise this you need to have a processor that has a front side bus of the same or faster... Read review
