...I bought this because I wanted a cheap toaster to leave at work , expecting a cheap toaster to be about £10-15 I was surprised to find this one for only £5.99 in a well known supermarket (the one beginning with 'S'). Not only was it so cheap but it came with a three year guarantee as well! So what’s it like? For such a cheap little thing it’s remarkably well engineered and put together, AFK is a German company if that might have a little to do with it. There's one or two slightly unfinished bits that you can see if you peer down inside which might be covered up on a more expensive model but hey, its £6, don't look! Styling is modern but unobtrusive, finished in white plastic with grey-blue details. It features stay cool walls so the outside doesn't get warm in use. ...street stores will charge for their own brand of warranty against an inferior machine. The AFK2801 is close to top of the range for Bosch, and has a range of spin speeds up to 1400rpm (B) (top of the range offers 1600rpm). Energy wise it rates A, and an A for wash performance. With around 20 programmes to choose from, we've had no problems with any of our day to day washing. An additional nicety is a 'time remaining' display, as well as an audible warning when the cycle completes, and the stainless steel drum should last as long as anything else in the machine. I can't comment on the noise, as we have the machine in our integral garage and I never hear anything other than the 'beep' signalling the end of the wash. I'm quietly confident that we'll have this machine around for the next 12years at least....... Read review
