AJA Kona 3

Advantages: price, fast, stability, top performance, a lot better than intel, overclocking, good support
Disadvantages: Heat is main problem.

...I compare a price and performance and Intel processor have been allways more expensive than AMD. All test at same Ghz showing that AMD is much faster. My first computer was AMD Duron 700 / Chaintech 7AJA. I had to choose between PIII and Duron 700 and i looked price and performance and i choosed AMD because i didn`t had so much money. After I bought new computer with AMD athlon processor I felt that computer is fast. XP boottime, games and test showed it also. I also have overclocked this processor as well. I looked toms hardware athlon overcloking tutorial and it works fin (+25% speed - stable). Main thing is that processor is good but like all other AMD processor has a problem of heating. ...The Voodoo 3 2000 is at the budget end of the current Voodoo graphics cards, but although it is pretty cheap that isn’t to say it is nasty. With 143Mhz clock rate and 16Mb of RAM it performs admirably and quite satisfactorily with most games. If you are playing on-line then the connection and speed of your modem is far more important than the card, so buying something much more expensive will make only a little bit of difference. The Voodoo 3 2000 is also quite easy to overclock, with speeds of 155MHz possible un-cooled, and 180MHz with additional cooling. Advantages: faster faster faster

...Well yes 800 mhz is quite a fast CPU for a desktop machine. So is it worth the money? Well depends on when you buy, if you buy about 2 months after release, then you will save a lot of money and have a near top of the range cpu. Much has been talked about the Athlon and the P3, which is better and so on and so forth. Well neither is particularly better than the other, both have there own uses. Intel's p3 is more expensive but also seems faster for many non 3D related items, in 3D enviroments the Athlon is better than the P3, but for the majority of applications the P3 is a better cpu. The price is high, and of course you will need a compatible motherboard, but get on the Intel speed train and get into the web with the P3... Read review
