The new battery monitoring circuit with control-LED gives out a visual warning signal about 45 minutes before the battery becomes empty. The directional characteristic can be changed very quickly and easily from cardoid to hyper-cardoid by inserting the accompanying Polar Pattern Converters PPC 1000 in the capsule. The also accompanying Presence Boost Adapter PB 1000 causes an accentuation of the high frequencies between 5 and 9 kHz by 3 to 5 dB and thus provides for a better speech understanding and precise instrumental sound.

Advantages: Great sound quality and very comfortable. Disadvantages: Fairly loose if you have a small head!
I recieved these headphones for christmas this year and was very pleased. I have owned other AKG products before so I was hoping they would live up to my expectations.
The quality of these headphones was very good and I was very pleased with the look of them. The sound quality was also very good as the bass realy comes through welland the sound is crystal clear.
They are very comfortable and can be adjusted perfectly. My only complaint would be that they feel a little loose and fall of quite easily if you shake your head too much.
Being closed back, while you are listening to music or something, there is virtualy no sound escaping for other people to hear.
The support that you get from the company is very good as you can ask them anything via email.
Overall, the headphones are very good for the ammount you will pay in most shops ...

These are professional quality headphones, made in Austria to a high standard. They give a clean and detailed sound with a crisp treble and they hold their own with bass response.
They are ideal for home-recording although this is not entirely because they give such a good response. The other thing about these headphones is that they are very tough indeed.
My previous headphones were senheissers.and they may have just had an edge over the AKGs in terms of sound quality. However, that didn't last because someone tripped over the wire and that caused one side to break. Farewell old headphones.
People trip over these AKG headphones and they don't break. In fact, they can be bent and twisted at alarming angles without breaking.
