Advantages: Very sturdy. Great sound. Disadvantages: None
...These are professional quality headphones, made in Austria to a high standard. They give a clean and detailed sound with a crisp treble and they hold their own with bass response.
They are ideal for home-recording although this is not entirely because they give such a good response. The other thing about these headphones is that they are very tough indeed.
My previous headphones were senheissers.and they may have just had an edge over the AKGs in terms of sound quality. However, that didn't last because someone tripped over the wire and that caused one side to break. Farewell old headphones.
People trip over these AKG headphones and they don't break. In fact, they can be bent and twisted at alarming angles without breaking.
This is a good thing. In fact, the practical truth is that the best headphones in the world are useless if you...

Advantages: Typical AKG bulid quality - sturdy, comfortable and brilliant sounding Disadvantages: None that i can think of...
...Essentially the same as the old K240 DF's that I replaced, these are another high quality example of AKG's offerings. Sound quality is as excellent as ever.
...Sound...
These are very versatile headphones as the sound reproduction is very good - as useful at home as they are in the studio. They have a good MF and HF range, good LF but can be a bit lacking sometimes - compared to the old 240DF's I had anyway. I use them at work sometimes for sound checks and they have always been pretty reliable.
...Durability...
They've been dropped, contorted and ran over; they still work as well as ever. Reasonably thick, sturdy cable which not only avoids getting tangled up with itself unlike smaller cables, but also helps to prevent damage from twisting, cutting etc.
...Comfort...
This was one of the main reasons I bought the newer model...

Advantages: Great price, good quality Disadvantages: Not quite as detailed as a professional pair - although this is to be expected!
...I consider these headphones to be excellent value for money. While not quite as good quality as AKG's high-end headphones, these are nevertheless an excellent pair of basic decent headphones for what you pay for them.
I bought these for both listening for pleasure and for recording rough demos in the studio, and have found them very suitable for both.
The closed back means they are suitable for studio recording - I have experienced very little leakage - and I find the sound quality is very good - although as you might expect, not as detailed as the more expensive headphones - with an even balance across treble and bass.
They are lightweight and fit comfortably [again, not quite as closely and snugly as a pair that you might pay £90 for, but very well considering the price].
All in all, a useful pair of everyday headphones which I...
