These are professional quality headphones, made in Austria to a high standard. They give a clean and detailed sound with a crisp treble and they hold their own with bass response.

They are ideal for home-recording although this is not entirely because they give such a good response. The other thing about these headphones is that they are very tough indeed.

My previous headphones were senheissers.and they may have just had an edge over the AKGs in terms of sound quality. However, that didn't last because someone tripped over the wire and that caused one side to break. Farewell old headphones.

People trip over these AKG headphones and they don't break. In fact, they can be bent and twisted at alarming angles without breaking.

This is a good thing. In fact, the practical truth is that the best headphones in the world are useless if you break them so this is a very good thing indeed.

Their frequency range (for those of you who like the numbers) is 15 Hz to 20,000 Hz and their impedance is 600 ohm. They weigh about 8.5 ounces.

Because they last and last it may be that AKG have revised their model numbers since I bought mine. A quick look on Google shows that Dolphin Music do a wi-fi version called an AKG K240 DF.

You can't trip on those if there's no wire!

If I had to find a downside with these headphones it would be that the plastic can get hot on your ears after a while. Hot ears seems a small price to pay when these sturdy headphones will last and last, and sound really professional.
