The AKG-44s have been exactly what I'm after. The speaker bits are surrounded by a soft leathery cushion - no rough edges, comfortable, and I feel like I could wear them for days without getting sore. The headphones clamp together lightly, and the self-adjusting headband is unnoticeable.

Opinion:
I hate earphones. I hate the way you have to wedge them into your ear, you're constantly worried whether they'll fall out, and they're about as comfortable as sticking gravel in your ear.
I wanted a cheap pair of *head*phones, that were comfortable, stereo, and if possible from a good manufacturer.

The sound quality is great! But I'm not an audiophile ("one who loves sound"). But when I play an MP3, the music sounds exactly as I remember it, with all the tone and bass bits.
The only downside is that you can hear other sounds in the room through the earphones. I sometimes use these at work, and you can still hear a bit of the general cacophony. But then in my book, that's an advantage and my manager doesn't need to shout at me to get my attention.
I've been told by an actual audiophile, that AKG is an OK make, so I have some confidence that I made a good purchase.
Overall:
They're comfortable, I can hear sound through them, they didn't cost me much. Winner!
Essentially the same as the old K240 DF's that I replaced, these are another high quality example of AKG's offerings. Sound quality is as excellent as ever.
