Advantages: A worthy cheaper rival to Pentium 4 Disadvantages: The AMD heatsink and fan is not good enough, and hard to attach to the motherboard
...The AMD XP3200+ is currently AMDs only processor capable of running on 400Mhz FSB motherboards without the need for overclocking, the processor is a socket A and you will need a compatible motherboard .
Processors running on higher FSB (front side bus) speeds tend to get a better response when processing information, this is a big plus to consider when looking to upgrade to a AMD XP3200+ processor for your computer system.
On most of todays socket A motherboards you will see that the processor frequency can be set at three different levels 133 for running 266mhzprocessors, 166 for running 333mhzprocessors and 200 for 400mhzprocessors, this is a must have piece of information that you will need to know especially when looking to purchase a processor, this is usually contained in your motherboards manual or at their official website...

Advantages: very good value for money Disadvantages: not available yet in any higher than 1.5 ghz
...AMD now are on the brink of prdecessing thier main rivals Intel at the processor game. Their most recent processor the AMD Athlon 1.4 ghz has been a great success, and rivals the intel p4 chip with 600mhz more processing power
Combined with a DDR (double data rate) motherboard, AMDschip provides the ultimate solution for high end video editing and games. Compatable with a wide range of main board manufacturers including Gigabyte, Asus, msi and abit, the chip is widely available at low prices, just £90 for the 1.4 mhzchip, which has been proved to be faster than the PIV chip (on a DDR motherboard), and it costs £300 less.
If you want a cheap pc with top specs then this processor is for you. With a bus speed of 133mhz and 10.5x clock multiplier, this chip will certainly top my pc upgrade list!...

Advantages: Just One Fats Disadvantages: Runs A Bit Hot
...I have been into Computers for well over 25 years and all the PC that I have built for myself have had AMD prospers in them. Starting with my first one and ADM 133 and at the time it was the fasters 133 you could bye. My friend at the time had an Intel 133 so we did some bench marks on them and he was not a happy chap he thought his was faster, NOT Speed for Speed AMD beats Intel all the time. Even when friend's wont a PC building I put in AMD. SO what would I say to all the users out there with Intel prosper, sack them and get AMD Power inside? If you won't Speed get AMD, if you won't value for money get AMD. To put it in a nutshell put an AMD Prospers in your PC. Plus they are cheaper than Intel as well....

Go on admit it. You know you want a faster processor, but every time you check the prices you gasp in horror at what the current prices stand at. This CPU is no different, it is expensive to many consumers' minds and many cannot find a good enough reason more
