Manufacturer's product description
The AMD Athlon processor is among the world's most powerful engines for PC computing, and represents the industry's first seventh-generation x86 microarchitecture. The AMD Athlon processor family is designed to power the next generation in x86 computing platforms. It meets the computation-intensive requirements of cutting-edge software applications running on high-end desktop systems, workstations, and servers. Business users who work with image processing, digital content creation, CAD/CAE, scientific applications and other computationally demanding software will benefit from the tremendous processing power of AMD Athlon processor-based systems. Computing enthusiasts who want the performance and clock speeds required to run the latest 3D gaming, entertainment, Internet, and personal productivity software will benefit from desktop systems powered by the AMD Athlon processor.
...The AMD Duron is a very good alternative to the more expensive Pentium 4 and Athlonprocessors. Line-moderately the Duron core is based on that of the Athlon and brings therefore also Anna-honouring just as good achievement (closer information see bench mark). For fast plays with complex diagram I would recommend this processor. I have mean AMD tested computers with some running plays, which ran all very good and made no problems.
Generally I am with my Duron 1.2 Ghz. Very contently. He falls hardly off and mostly only if any program not reliably runs and an error has. The AMD Duron 1.2 Ghz. runs with a Frontside bus from 2x100 MHz. This processor is meant for all Main boards, which possess a A-base. The Motherboard operates the processor with a tension of approximately 3.3 V. The price for this processor is to be decided a second good...

...I have built loads of systems from socket 7 to amd to p111 slots, i run 3 pc's seperately ,2 have pentium prossers & one has a amd i have run the amdathlon for 12 months & it has been nothing but trouble, half the hardwear on the market it does not support amd when you build a amd system you have to be so carefull on which conponents you buy ie motherboards, memory i spent weeks going through this mine field & still going though it ,with hinesite i would never build any more.MY P111 450 has been running for 2 years i hammer it to death day in day out never crashed or had any errors what soever in fact i have up graded it to a P111 700 5 mins work & perfect the moral of this is (there is nothing good cheap & there is nothing cheap good)...

Advantages: Stable, fast, easy to install and value for money Disadvantages: Instructions could be clearer
...This product is the nerve center of your computer. Your processor or CPU (Central Processing Unit) controls how your computer 'talks' to other devices connected to it. The CPU is also responsible for transmitting data through your PC and working out mathematical operations.
What can I say? What a product. The AMD1.92GHzprocessor delivers high speed and performance at low cost.
Built upon the reliability of AMD's processor architecture this product is not only quick and stable but is easy to install.
I found this product very attractive thanks to reviews on Ciao and others. Support from AMD was excellent and they provided top support for the product.
The only problem with the product was the manual. This was minimal and I found easy to install only with the previous experiences with computer building.
I would recommend to people...
