Advantages: Great performance, excellent hardware and software bundle. Disadvantages: Too pricey for the average user.
...This truelly excellent bundle from Time is one of the fastest PC's around. The price of around £1,600, which you may find a little high, is still value for money. It's an easily upgradable PC, but will get you through at least 2 years before you would have to even consider getting out your screwdriver!
What do you get for your money?
Well, the tremendously fast Time 1000 is packed with a great hardware and software bundle. It has a mighty 1GhzAMDAthlonprocessor, which will run even the newest of games. The Hercules 3D Prophet II Geforce card more than helps to put the best graphics on your screen. The CPU is backed up with an SB Live! 1024 sound card, a masssive 30Gb hard disk drive, 128MB of RAM and a HSP56 modem which helps the Time 1000-7c claim it has one of the very best hardware bundles around. But that's not all, you get...

Advantages: Reliable, easy to fit/setup, huge expansion capability Disadvantages: may need to upgrade pc case to fit it in.
...My pc was running at a snails pace so I decided to upgrade the processor to AMD’sAthlon XP 2gb chip, this required a motherboard update. The Epox EP-8KTA+ presented the solution.
The motherboard comes with a user manual, floppy ribbon, hard drive ribbon cable, usb cable and drivers and utility disk.
The Epox board supports the AMDAthlon and Duron processors from 600 MHz to 1.3GHz, However a new BIOS patch allows it to run up to 2.2 GHz.
The Board is of the ATX form factor and requires at least a midi tower to fit in, dimensions are 305mm (H) x 245mm (d).
The I/O (In/Out) back panel has PS/2 keyboard and mouse sockets, 1 parallel printer port, sound and microphone lines, 2 com ports and 4 usb ports.
The memory is pc133/vc133 168 pin DIMM and the board can take 32 MB to 1.5 GB thanks to the 4 DIMM slots available

...Having had an AMD chip in my last machine (Athlon1.1Ghz) I have been impressed over the past 3 years as to the stability and consistency of the processor.
I have never really had any major problems with the processor - apart from the processor fan failing - and, therefore, decided to stick with AMD for an upgrade.
I had a good look around, and decide on the 2600+ chipset with the 333 FSB. This will (with the correct motherboard) allow the use of DDR400 RAM which leads to performance gains.
The chip itself only set me back £75 (PC World Component Centre), and along with a new motherboard, memory (512Mb) and a new 450 power supply, the entire upgrade cost me around £350.
Now, considering that a new machine would have cost me in the region of £1500 upwards, this worked out as a very good solution.
Since purchasing the new equipment...

The AMD Athlon processor powers the next generation in computing platforms, delivering the ultimate performance for cutting-edge applications and an unprecedented computing experience. The AMD Athlon processor is the first member of a new family of seventh-generation AMD processors designed to meet the computation-intensive requirements of cutting-edge software applications running on high-performance desktop systems, workstations, and servers.
...The AMD Duron is a very good alternative to the more expensive Pentium 4 and Athlonprocessors. Line-moderately the Duron core is based on that of the Athlon and brings therefore also Anna-honouring just as good achievement (closer information see bench mark). For fast plays with complex diagram I would recommend this processor. I have mean AMD tested computers with some running plays, which ran all very good and made no problems.
Generally I am with my Duron 1.2 Ghz. Very contently. He falls hardly off and mostly only if any program not reliably runs and an error has. The AMD Duron 1.2 Ghz. runs with a Frontside bus from 2x100 MHz. This processor is meant for all Main boards, which possess a A-base. The Motherboard operates the processor with a tension of approximately 3.3 V. The price for this processor is to be decided a second good...

Advantages: BETTER THAN RIVAL PROCESSER Disadvantages: NONE
...hello there i would like to take a moment to to reveiw this product.i am currently using this amd 64 processer.I installed and fitted my self. first of all i would say the overall quality of the processer is good. And is solidly built. The processer connected too the mother board inside my computer nice and easy.Installation was stait forward and easy aswell. The performance of the amd is outstanding. I often run many programs at the same time, very demanding ones at that such as cubase music editing programs so i need extremly low latency settings all the time. The amd does exactly that.
