...AMD now are on the brink of prdecessing thier main rivals Intel at the processor game. Their most recent processor the AMDAthlon1.4ghz has been a great success, and rivals the intel p4 chip with 600mhz more processing power
Combined with a DDR (double data rate) motherboard, AMDs chip provides the ultimate solution for high end video editing and games. Compatable with a wide range of main board manufacturers including Gigabyte, Asus, msi and abit, the chip is widely available at low prices, just £90 for the 1.4 mhz chip, which has been proved to be faster than the PIV chip (on a DDR motherboard), and it costs £300 less.
If you want a cheap pc with top specs then this processor is for you. With a bus speed of 133mhz and 10.5x clock multiplier, this chip will certainly top my pc upgrade list!...

Advantages: fast, cheap, not Intel Disadvantages: none
...of the range Pentium 4 costs you £540 (source www.novtech.co.uk 12/10/2001). I wasn't going to get the latest chip so I eventually paid around the £110 mark, which for what I got I thought, was very reasonable. The other thing is that AMDProcessors have been tested and have consistently outperformed their Intel rivals.

The revolutionary system bus allows users to quickly and easily process Internet content from DSL/cable modems and digital video imaging devices. Business users get remarkable performance from AMD Athlon processor-based systems. Popular programs for desktop publishing, database, accounting, and other demanding business applications execute at fast speeds, resulting in exceptional levels of productivity. The enormous power of the AMD Athlon processor's visual computing capabilities allows users to unleash their creativity and deliver high-impact Web designs and other dynamic communications to effectively reach and influence customers. The AMD Athlon processor offers the peace-of-mind reliability required by enterprise users and IT managers. The AMD Athlon processor's system bus is also designed for scalable multiprocessing, with the number of AMD Athlon processors in a multiprocessor system determined by chipset implementation. High-performance AMD Athlon processor-based platforms provide an exceptional level of performance and data-movement bandwidth for computation-intensive software used in such challenging applications as digital imaging, Internet content development, enterprise computing, CAD/CAE, scientific/technical calculations, and 3D gaming. The combination of exceptional performance, high clock frequencies, performance-enhancing cache memory, impressive bus bandwidth, and a reliable design makes the AMD Athlon processor family a powerful choice for high-end desktop systems, workstations, and servers.
...The AMD Duron is a very good alternative to the more expensive Pentium 4 and Athlonprocessors. Line-moderately the Duron core is based on that of the Athlon and brings therefore also Anna-honouring just as good achievement (closer information see bench mark). For fast plays with complex diagram I would recommend this processor. I have mean AMD tested computers with some running plays, which ran all very good and made no problems.
Generally I am with my Duron 1.2 Ghz. Very contently. He falls hardly off and mostly only if any program not reliably runs and an error has. The AMD Duron 1.2 Ghz. runs with a Frontside bus from 2x100 MHz. This processor is meant for all Main boards, which possess a A-base. The Motherboard operates the processor with a tension of approximately 3.3 V. The price for this processor is to be decided a second good...
