Advantages: Great overclocking potential Disadvantages: Not world-leading performance
I bought this CPU a year ago, and it was a 3700 KAB1E stepping, one of the gems of this CPU is its massive overclocking potential, with the KABxE series being the pinnacles, as such i have maintained an overclock to 3.07 GHz, making this faster than the £500 FX57 CPU, all for free!
This CPU is 2.2 GHz with a 200 MHz FSB like all Athlon 64's and has a multiplier of 11x, however you can lower this but not raise it.

I brought this processor as part of an upgrade bundle (RAM Mobo and CPU) about 2 years ago to go with my then new Geforce 6800GT. This review will be based on how this product performs NOW, two years on.
This CPU has served me well, and paired with my 6800GT is still able to play nearly all new games on high graphics settings. The new advances in chip technology (e.g. Intels new quad core) have driven down the prices of these Mid range CPU's, meaning ... ...having to take out a bank loan. Obviously this is not on par with the recent 'flagship' processors, and if you want to build a PC for the purpose of setting amazing benchmarks and running 5 programmes at once, and you have the money then you should of course opt for a newer CPU. But if you're looking to build a decent multi purpose system that can handle the latest games and applications well, then i would deffinatley reccomend this product. Compared ...

...seriously this again is an AMD success for its temperature level it operates under a lot of stress for me and just keeps putting out, I have now no intention of upgrading. Seriously the output speed is just amazing not to mention its stablility, you can throw everything at it and it just keeps going a real credit to AMD build quality and as usual you get the reliable AMD drivers and reasonable AMD support.
So more to the point and more specifics, ... ...could easily find on any sales advert but instead I am going to give you the information you won't find on the advert. This runs 20 degrees cooler than the FX 55 and offers very little less over than value for money. The over clocking potential due to the low operating temperature of the CPU, not that your will need to though. Anyway hope this helps some its not an in-depth detail of what it can do on paper but more a personal review ...
